Review of Extra Dessert Delights Sugarfree Gum Strawberry Shortcake Flavored Gum

I picked up a package of Extra Dessert Delights Sugar free Gum Strawberry Shortcake Flavored Gum, about a week ago, and today finally got around to trying it. I had been so hooked on their mint chocolate chip ice cream flavored gum, that I sort of just ignored this one till recently.

It was easy to spot, and I was already aware of Extra's Dessert Delights for about a month, so whenever I was in the grocery store's check out lane I would seek out new flavors in the collection of Dessert Delights. Strawberry Shortcake was easy to spot due to the hot pink coloring the package has, and the delicious looking strawberry shortcake that they feature on the front of the package.

Inside of the package you will find 15 long sticks of gum all individually wrapped. The gun itself is pink in color, and you can smell the strawberry scent coming from the package the moment you open it up. The thing I didn't like too much about this gum though was that the scent seemed weak, and off the mark in comparison to the other Dessert Delights gums I had tried. The strawberry scent was obvious, but it did not smell anything like a strawberry shortcake.

Nor did it taste like one.

Extra Dessert Delights Sugarfree Gum Strawberry Shortcake Flavored Gum, is not a bad gum, but it is also the only one in the Dessert Delights collection that did not taste authentic to the name.
It had a sweet strawberry flavoring at first, and immediately, nearly within seconds that strawberry flavor died out leaving behind a really bland flavored gum.

The immediate flavor was strawberry, nothing strawberry shortcake about it. No creamy aftertaste or a hint of shortcake.

Extra Dessert Delights Sugarfree Gum Strawberry Shortcake Flavored Gum is the only gum in the collection so far that failed to hit the mark. The others I have tried have all tasted exactly like a dessert, this one, this one just failed to taste anything like a strawberry shortcake. Even at the low price the package goes for, I wouldn't recommend this one.
