Review of the Sims 3, SimSocial Game APP on Facebook

I'm a huge fan of the Sims, and with the official release of Late Night and me being stuck not having my copy yet, I went poking around the net looking for reviews. While I found reviews on this new expansion pack for The Sims 3, I came across an online game application that I did not even know about, and this one has supposedly been around since May of 2009.

It is called Sims 3 SimSocial, and after discovering it on Facebook I did not waste any time at all.
The game starts off looking very promising, with graphics that you find in the actual Sims 3 game. You are of course limited here; actually you are very limited, but the game is a good time stealer nonetheless.

You start off by creating your character. You choose whether or not you want a male or female player, and then you work on adding a shirt, pants, shoes, or an outfit. Your choices however in each tab are limited to around 3, sometimes 2 choices, so customization is limited. No bother though, every game on Facebook has such limits, so do not expect the whole enchilada, like you have been given in official PC games.

Next your Sim will sit in the center of the screen while your dashboard becomes your official play space on the left. The right side of your Sim that sits in the center is where you find the mood bars.
Unfortunately nothing happens besides a lot of reading, and picking and choosing what your Sim will do for the day after work. Beyond that nothing major happens. You can attempt to take a friend out for some entertainment, clean the house, attend classes, and so on. Things you could do in the actual game, only you don't see what goes on in SimSocial. You read about it on the left dashboard, which is your Sims blog. They let you know how the even went, how work was, how the walk to work was and so on.

Your Sim of course can advance, get promotions, raises, cars, and household items that will keep them happy. But you never see a house, or an inside of one, which would have been cool, even if not graphically thrilling to the eye. Something like YoVille would have worked well enough.

Right now though, the game gets bland fast, but it's fun enough and if you have nothing else going on it's worth checking out as it is free on Facebook.
