Review: Tire Biter PawTracks, Tire Dog Toy

Our bull terrier loves toys. Unfortunately he has one powerful bite, and most of the toys we buy him ends up chopped to bits in little than an hour. It really is annoying because most of the toys we buy him promise to withstand even the toughest dogs, and not to mention most of his toys are around $10-$15.

It's a real smack in the face after spending $15.00 on a toy to see that he went through it in just minutes.
When we came across the Tire Biter Pawtracks Tire Toy we assumed that it would not withstand his bite. However it looked like the toughest toy on the rack so we went with it.

When we got home we were excited to give our bully his new tire, and he absolutely adored it. He likes ring toys, and has this funny habit where he will stick his nose through the hole and flip it up. The dog entertains himself, and watching him do so is a real treat.

When we showed him his new tire toy, he grabbed it and went on his usual run, flipping the tire in the air and catching it while running around like a lunatic.

We let him play with it for about an hour, and were happy to discover that it only had small dents and cuts. We knew over time the tire would eventually be ripped to shreds, but after an hour of playing with it, the PawTracks looked nearly new.

Our dog played with the tire daily for up to two weeks, when finally it ended up being ripped apart. 2 weeks is not a very long time for a toy to last, but it beats an hour compared to other tough toys we have bought him.

Overall the tire was a good toy, and lasted for quite some time. 2 weeks may not sound like a long time to you, but for our dog it lasted much longer than other toys, so it was somewhat worth it.

For those who do not have aggressive chewers, or strong dogs, the toy would provide months and months of play. For those with aggressive chewers like ours though, do know you are likely to get only a week or 2 worth of use out of it. The investment is up to you.

For us, we will likely buy the larger model with hopes that it will last longer than the medium sized one did. In all honesty it was the longest lasting chew toy our bull terrier has ever gotten, so it was an investment well worth it. We have spent much more money on toys that promised to withstand tough dogs, but none came close to lasting quite as long as the Toy Tire did.

You can find the PawTracks Toy Tire at nearly any pet store. They sell them in small sizes, medium sizes, and larger ones that come with a built in rope.
