Review: Fat Chef Plate Server

I have over the past year fallen in love with the artwork of Jennifer Garant. Her work includes paintings of the most adorable 'fat people'. There is really no nice way to put it, her work includes fat lady in a tub, fat friends meeting for lunch at a corner bistro, fat ladies on bikes, fat chefs and more.

When I came across the Fat Chef Plate Server, I immediately thought that this was the work of Jennifer Garant. Unfortunately I couldn't find any logo, or signature with her name on it. So in all honesty the Fat Chef Plate Server I am reviewing today may or may not be by Jennifer Garant.

I found the Fat Chef Plate Server for only $10 at my local Homegoods store, and the moment I spotted him I knew that he would be mine.

Description:

The Fat Chef Plate Server comes with his large arms pointing outward, with a small slit in his stomach area. The slit allows you to place the included porcelain dish into his arms, and into the small grove in it's stomach in order to hold the plate up.

You can change the included plate with a larger one if you want, but the plate that comes with it looks the best. It's a small serving dish, with some green detail around the sides.

The Fat Chef, when holding the plate looks like he is holding a small pizza. You can place anything you want into the dish, from toothpicks, to salt and pepper shakers, or sugar packets. It's entirely up to you.
Although the purpose of the Fat Chef Serving Dish is not really necessary, the whimsical and adorable detail given to him makes him that must have piece in your kitchen.

He is dressed as a chef should be dressed. Wearing a large white apron, with a large white chef hat, and a jolly smile written on his face. He stands on a black and white checkered floor base, and is all together charming.

Overall:

Fat Chef Serving Plate is just a fun decorative piece, it grabs attention, and people will consistently ask where you got it. It's one of those cute pieces that is unique, fun, and adorable.

I used the plate to store my cell phone on when it's charging. You can use the dish for whatever you'd like, but like I said, the plate is small.

You can add a larger plate, but make sure it's lightweight, or plastic to ensure the Chef does not topple over. It's made of some sort of hard rubber and won't break if it falls, but the plate itself that comes with it can break if it falls.
