I've tried just about every 100 calorie snack that supermarkets have to
offer. From rice cakes, cakes, muffins and bread. As much as I enjoy the
fact that I'm treating myself, while keeping off the calories, many 100
calorie snacks look fantastic on the box, and as soon as you open the
box you are greeted with micro-sized snacks with bland taste. The worst
part about getting a cruddy 100 calorie snack is the fact that most of
them cost close to $4 for a small pack of 4 to 6 snacks. It sucks
knowing that for $2 less you could get a nice regular large snack, only
it'll stick right to your rear!
When I came across Little Debbie's 100 Calorie Snow Puffs I got excited because not only was the pack less than $2.00, they were friggin Snow Puffs man!!!
The Snow Puff's on the box look like nice delicious large snow puffs,
sprinkled in coconut and plopped on top of a delicious looking chocolate
base.
When I got home and opened the box though, the Snow Puff did in fact
look like the Snow Puff's on the box, but it looked like they used the
Honey I Shrunk The Kids machine on them!
Yep, they were small, really small. In fact if I really wanted to be a
pig, I could shove the whole Snow Puff into my mouth in one sitting and
swallow it down like nothing.
Taste:
I was hoping that these pint sized Snow Puffs at least had a taste
that would be acceptable, or at least realistic to what a larger Snow
Puff would taste like.
Low and behold, the only sacrifice made to the Little Debbie Snow
Puffs was the size, because the Snow Puffs themselves taste fantastic.
They have that original fluffy marshmallow top, with coconut shavings
that are simply divine. The chocolate base is as equally delicious, with
a near brownie type flavoring to it, and although the Snow Puff is
small it packs a really decent kick for sweet tooth relief.
Overall:
I love them. I was a little disappointed with their small size at
first, but overall was impressed with just how good the Snow Puff was.
Seeing that they are the cheapest 100 calorie snack I have ever come
across, I would highly recommend them to those on a budget, and for
those who are just sick of the same old 100 calorie snack options.
