Review: New Cherry 7UP Antioxidant

I've always been a fan of 7UP. As a kid it was hands down my number one pick for a refreshing lift, and it continued to be so for years to come.

Throughout the years though, 7UP has rarely surprised me with new flavors. At least in the stores I have shopped I have never come across anything new, or unique.

Recently though, I came across a few new flavors from them. One is a pomegranate flavor that I've yet to come across.

Yesterday though while browsing my local superstore I thought I finally had found the Pomegranate flavor, only I was surprised to instead pick up a bottle Labeled Cherry 7UP Antioxidant!

I guess they are now marketing healthier soda. The new Cherry 7UP Antioxidant is caffeine free, 100% naturally flavored, and contains the antioxidant Vitamin E. Each serving delivers 10% of the recommended daily intake of Vitamin E.

The bottle looked like regular cherry 7UP only it had a darker pink coloring to it, and of course a gigantic logo that read NEW. Frankly it'd relatively easy to miss, but at the same time easy to spot.
Seeing that the new beverage contained an antioxidant I figured it would have an odd vitamin like aftertaste. I mean usually drinks that contain a healthier element have an odd aftertaste.

Taste:

When I poured myself a cup of it and took a sip I was surprised to find that it tasted original to Cherry 7UP. It did however have a noticeably stronger flavoring of cherry than usual. Now I don't know if this idea was all in my head only because I was expecting it to taste slightly different, it did taste a little sweeter. As far as aftertaste goes, there were none. It tastes like soda should taste, with no odd flavoring left behind on the tongue.

Overall:

New Cherry 7UP Antioxidant is good. It has the same original flavoring that Cherry 7UP has, and it contains an antioxidant, so really I plan on choosing this one over the original from here on out.

The Cherry 7UP Antioxidant also comes in Diet Cherry 7UP Antioxidant. It can be found being sold in large 2 liter bottles, 12 packs, and 20 ounce bottles. It is also sold in smaller 8 ounce cans, but I was not able to spot these anywhere in the store.

It's worth trying, and definitely a worthy replacement to the original.
