For the past few months after getting dental work done on a wisdom
tooth, I left with more pain than when I originally went in for the
minor discomfort. As it turned out, the work on the tooth resulted in
the tooth becoming extremely sensitive to pressure, cold foods or
beverages, sugary foods, and brushing.
After heading back to the dentist, I was told the tooth was fine, but
would probably be sensitive for quite some time. After a check up, and
brief overlook of the tooth the dentist sent me on my way with 2 new
toothpastes that I'd likely never even bother considering before the
sensitivity. One toothpaste being Sensodyne, and the other, Crest Sensitivity Original Toothpaste - Soothing Whitening Mint.
I used up the small tube of Sensodyne, with a huge difference in the
sensitivity of the tooth. Although it was subsided, the sensitivity was
still present, more so while attempting to clean the tooth.
Now that Sensodyne was all used up, I figured I would give the Crest
toothpaste a try to see if it would possibly patch up the sensitivity
that still lingered.
First and foremost, Crest Sensitivity Original Toothpaste - Soothing Whitening Mint
tasted very similar to Sensodyne. It had that obvious baking soda
flavoring added to it, with the weak notes of mint.
This was the one
thing I didn't particularly like about sensitive formula toothpastes.
They all seemed weak in the freshening department. Although my teeth
were clean after using the toothpaste, my breath did not feel entirely
fresh, like standard toothpastes are capable of leaving your breath.
With Crest Sensitivity Original Toothpaste - Soothing Whitening Mint
the problem was the same. After brushing though, I did a final rinse
with some mouthwash in order to freshen my breath. I suggest that you do
the same if you plan on using any type of sensitivity toothpaste.
The flavor of the toothpaste however is a little more refreshing than Sensodyne.
Results:
I have been using Crest Sensitivity Original Toothpaste - Soothing Whitening Mint
for nearly a week now, twice a day. I was also told that when
sensitivity began to make itself more known, to dab a little bit of this
toothpaste directly on to the tooth. Luckily the sensitivity in the
tooth had died down so significantly, that doing this was not necessary.
All in all, ever since using Crest Sensitivity Original Toothpaste -
Soothing Whitening Mint I have felt a huge change in the sensitive
tooth. Sensodyne nearly knacked the problem entirely, but after using
Crests formula, the problem is barely even noticed.
If you have a sensitive tooth, or sensitive teeth, first see your
dentist and make sure it's not a sign of a larger problem. Once you do
that, begin using Sensodyne and Crest Sensitivity Original Toothpaste - Soothing Whitening Mint. You will find in just a short amount of time that the sensitivity has died down significantly.
