Originally you could only find a vacuum sealed bag of Dallmayr Prodomo Ground Coffee in Germany. However thanks to the world wide web, and my local Marshall's, I was able to pick a bag up for only $3.00.
I found it sitting on a shelf at Marshall's and initially I was going
to pass it up. However for a bag of coffee, you really cannot find it
for less. A cup of coffee at Starbuck's will cost you more, so really it
was a deal; heck, an even better deal if the coffee actually tasted
good.
I really had no clue what this one was going to taste like, but the
packaging (even though it only ran me $3.00), looked to be of high
quality, and exclusive. One I probably wouldn't be able to find at this
price ever again.
After trying Starbuck's Pike Place Coffee, and not being a fan of the
burnt bold flavor, I was hoping that Dallmayr Prodomo Ground Coffee
would make up for it.
After opening the package, I was greeted with a delicious fresh coffee
fragrance that I loved. It was sweet, with not a single tint of dark or
bold roasted scent. It smelled mild, and smooth. Vacuum sealed bags
tend to do that though, they keep those grounds very fresh, and the
moment you release the seal, the scent hits you like a ton of bricks.
Some of the best tasting coffee I've ever had usually comes from vacuum
sealed bags.
While the coffee brewed the same fresh scent filled the air, warm, fresh, and mild. Just the way I like it!
Taste:
I made up my cup of coffee as I normally would, with a little cream
and some sugar. I took my first taste and was shocked that this coffee
was brewed in my home, and not bought at some ritzy high end coffee
cafe. Dallmayr Prodomo Ground Coffee tasted just like a ritzy high end
cafe coffee. It was delicious!
The flavor was fresh, smooth, and mild. There are no notes of burnt
roasted beans, or bold muddy zings. Dallmayr Prodomo Ground Coffee was a
perfect sup of coffee right down to the very last sip. It tastes the
way coffee is supposed to taste, without any added flavors or bold and
oily kinks that many bagged coffee's have.
If mild coffee is your thing, then look no further than Dallmayr
Prodomo Ground Coffee. This one is sure to please even the most picky
coffee snobs.
Where To Buy:
Odds are you are not in Germany right now, and likely you are not going to get lucky and find a bag of Dallmayr Prodomo Ground Coffee for only $3.00, but if you are interested in giving it a try, Amazon has them for sale, and I couldn't recommend it more.
