Review: Purex Complete 3 in 1 Laundry Sheets in Spring Oasis

A few weeks ago I stumbled upon a rather interesting laundry concept called Purex Complete 3 in 1 Laundry Sheets.

What made them so very unique was the fact that I did not have to pour anything into my washing machine, or dryer. The 3 in 1 sheets basically allow you to plop one sheet into your washing machine; when the wash cycle is finished, you then transfer your clothing over into the dryer, with the Purex 3 in 1 sheet.

The sheets are a laundry detergent, a softener and an anti static all fused in to one sheet.

Now on first glance one would imagine that these sheets would be pretty useless. I mean they are small, really small. I wondered how well these sheets would work in conjunction with the packages bold promises. Their unique shape and promise sold me.

If it did work, Purex Complete would save me a ton of money, and it would also eliminate the excessive not-so-earth-friendly bottles that usually are stacked in my laundry room.

Would these sheets truly clean my clothes, and work as advertised? Let's find out!

My Use:
 
I loaded my washing machine with a medium sized load of clothing, dropped in a Purex Complete 3 in 1 sheet, and let it go to work.

After the cycle was over I transferred my clothing, and the sheet over into the dryer, and let it dry my clothing for the usual 40 minutes needed to fully dry my clothes.

After removing my clothing, I took in a long inhale to see how nice the clothing smelled. I purchased the sheets in a Spring Oasis scent which on the sheet smelled like a subtle spring floral mix. However my clothing when removed from the dryer had no scent at all. The clothing smelled clean, and had a fresh zing to them, but as far as smelling like a Spring Oasis, this was far from the truth.

I had a feeling that the sheets would not pack enough fragrant punch to clothing, and my hunch was correct.

Although they seem quite handy, these sheets cannot even come close to comparing with actual liquid detergent and dryer sheets. They do clean, yes, but they do not leave clothing nicely scented, nor do they add a soft touch to clothing quite like my usual brand Gain does.

I do think however that the concept is spectacular; they just need to work out a few quirks and the sheets will be perfect.

I bought them simply because they seemed unique, I like to try new things when I see them as well, however Purex Complete 3 in 1 Sheets are something I likely will not buy again; at least not until they are improved.
