Tbonz Beef and Cheese Dog Treats by Purina

If anyone knows me, they know of my recent addition. A baby boy weighing in at 14 pound at 14 weeks old, a bouncing baby boy named Bully.

That’s right, Bully our new bull terrier is a peach. My boyfriend and I have been trying to figure out which treat he likes best as a reward during training. So far he seems to like all of them, and has not rejected a single one.

T Bonz seemed well enough. It was a decent sized 10 ounce bag of about 20 to 24 steaks in there. (That’s right they are shaped like mini steaks) T Bonz beef and cheese flavored treats comes in an easy to reseal bag.

There is a ring of white meat wrapped around brownish reddish colored beef resembling steak. It’s like a ring of fat around the meat; I’m assuming that the white parts in the treat are the cheese. The red obviously is the beef.

We knew we had to give him these very sparingly seeing how he has a hearty appetite, and it’s in his genes to let himself go (If yah know what I mean).

When I first opened the bag I was hit with a scent I knew all too well. The smell was a cheap, almost clay-dough like smoky scent. Usually when I have given treats like this to any of our dogs they decline them without so much as even a second sniff.

Bully however is like no other dog I have ever had, Bully likes anything and everything you place in front of his face, so of course T Bonz were no exception.


What was excellent about T Bonz was how moist they are. When Bully came home to us he was recovering from kennel cough, so he was still on medication (Pills in which he would not eat on his own).

It was easy for us to stuff the pill inside of the T Bonz and he would chow away without even knowing he was also eating his medicine.
Now don’t get last and not reseal the bag. The T Bonz will dry out and get hard if you happen to leave the bag open and expose the T Bonz to air.

WHAT MAKES THEM SO DESIRABLE?

Perhaps it’s what’s in them: Wheat flour, ground wheat, water, corn gluten meal, beef, sugar, glycerin, hydrogenated starch hydrolysate, dried whey, bacon fat preserved with BHA, dried cheese powder, tricalcium phosphate, sorbic acid, gelatin, added color (red 40, yellow 6, yellow 5, and others), salt, artificial smoke flavor, calcium propionate, phosphoric acid, and glyceryl monostearate.

GIMME SOME STEAK!

You can find T Bonz at any local shopping center. K-mart, WalMart, Target, and pet stores will sell them. They come in quite a few different flavors, which include the ones we got for Bully, beef and cheese, beef, and steak/steak and cheese flavors.

WHY WE LOVE THEM:

For one all of our dogs seem to enjoy them except for a few overly picky eaters, and secondly Bully learned his first trick while using T Bonz.
We’ve has him for only 5 days so far and he has already learned how to “sit” for his treat.

WHAT’S NOT SO GREAT ABOUT THEM:

Like I said, Bully loves them, and so do the other dogs in our home. However the smaller Yorkies and Chihuahuas seem to only enjoy the red meaty part of the T Bonz. The harder white parts they seem to pick off and leave on the ground for Bully to walk by and swipe up.

OVERALL OPINION:

T Bonz beef and cheese treats seem to be a favorite amongst our dogs. They work well when it comes to training of puppies, and basically they love the taste of them. If they love them, we love them.

*I would recommend giving larger dogs 2 treats a day and smaller dogs you can cut them in half and give them 2 halves a day.
