Every Halloween me and my family plan a sweet Halloween party, and the
reason why guests come back year after year are not only for our huge
collection of freaky props, but they also come for the collection of odd
and unique foods.
You see on Halloween you cannot just serve ordinary foods, you have to
amp it up and serve weird looking, yet delicious foods and deserts. One
desert that always seems to be a hit is our Zombie Brain Jello. We
actually found this jello mold a few years back on ebay, and we paid a
hefty price of nearly $20.00 for the mold. This very same jello mold can
now be found for only around $7-$9, and usually hits shelves at joke
shops and gift shops around the end of September.
The Zombie Brain Jello Mold is simply a green hard plastic mold that
your pour your jello into and allow it to cool. In the morning when you
slide the jello out of the mold what you have is a nice sturdy hunk of
brain.
The mold always works wonderfully for us, and makes a nice large
desert with little to no effort. The mold cleans up easily and is
dishwasher safe. The mold also comes with recipes on how to make your
brain look as realistic as possible. Any creative person though does not
need this and can toss it aside and make the brain however they want.
If you want the tips though, they're there for you in the small manual.
We like making our brain transparent, the booklet gives you tips on
how to give it a solid color. A transparent green though in my opinion
always looks the best, especially when you add some smashed bananas or
maraschino cherries.
The Zombie Brain Jello molds measurements are as followed: 9" x 7" x
4". After using the mold you can safely tuck it away in its box for next
years use.
The Zombie Brain Jello is always a hit at our yearly Halloween party,
and the kids who first take a look at it end up screaming ew....20
minutes later mmmm.
Availability:
The Zombie Brain Jello mold is not going to jump off of the counters
for you. As a matter of fact it's pretty hard to find in stores; even
around the holidays. I have seen them, but not often. You should call
your local Spencer's store and ask if they have them available. If not,
you can always find one at ebay, or on this site where I found it for
$8.99, www.stupidtoys.com.
Recommendation:
This is the must have desert dish for those throwing a Halloween
party. Making Halloween themed deserts and dishes can sometimes be time
consuming and difficult. The Zombie Brain Jello Mold not only saves you
time, but it also will be a hit with your guests.
