A Review of Living World Rabbit Resort XL Starter Kit

In order to fully understand why I spent so much money on the Living World Rabbit Resort XL Starter Kit, you'd have to get a peek into my family's rabbit history...

My cousin was about 7 years old when she got her first baby bunny rabbit. Thumper had a gorgeous hutch, and Thumper quickly feel in love with my cousin. The love was mutual. A year goes by, and my cousin comes home one day from school, to discover that Thumper isn't in his cage.

As she frantically begins to search for Thumper, the little girl who lived next door comes running over to tell her that one of her moms boyfriends (in reality, he was a client, as this girls mom ran a prostitution business from her sleaze bag of a home) tied a small rope around the things neck, and dragged it from the car.

Yeah. Thats no exaggeration...straight up animal cruelty 101.

This event has never left my cousins mind, and it has stuck with me for years as well.

Seeing how my cousin lately has been talking about getting another rabbit, but every time she thinks about buying one, she thinks about Thumper's death by the hands of pure evil.

I figured she lives in a nice area now, her birthday is coming up...so hell with it. I'm going to get her a baby bunny. I found the perfect cream colored baby bunny who was so damn adorable and docile, that I myself wanted to keep her. Unfortunately I knew I couldn't just hand over the bunny. The lil' guy needed a cage.

Seeing how I couldn't travel to Petco to get a cheap bunny cage, I had no choice but to buy one right there in the small Petland Discount shop I was in. I knew though buying a cage here would mean I'm spending double, compared to Petco prices.

I at first was going to purchase a single cage, and figured I'd just buy food, bedding and a water bottle on the side. Prices were so ridiculous though that I instead went with the even $100.00 Living World Rabbit Resort XL Starter Kit.

Yep! $100 freaking dollars! The rabbit only $40.00! Yikes! Who the heck knew a cage would be so pricey! I remember having a rabbit when I was a kid, and most stores used to just give the cage away with the purchase of the rabbit! Not so anymore!

I felt I had no choice, so I spent the money.

I figured the Living World Rabbit Resort XL Starter Kit had everything she would need to start off.

The Cage:

The Living World Rabbit Resort XL Starter Kit comes with an extra larger cage, where unfortunately the dimensions are not displayed. I will say though that 2 rabbits can comfortable fit inside of the cage. The rabbit I purchased for her would have more than enough free roaming space to do whatever it is rabbits do in their cages.

The cages wiring is sturdy, and can collapse for storing if you are no longer using it.

All in all the wiring is very easy to set up, as you just unfold it and clip it on to the cages bottom base using the available cage clips.

The cage also opens at the top, for easy access to your rabbit.

In The Box:

Besides the cage, Living World Rabbit Resort XL Starter Kit also comes with a food dish, a water bottle, cedar chips for bedding, Living World Premium Rabbit Food (which the rabbit was not fond of), Living World Puffs (again, the rabbit was uninterested), and honey sticks (the rabbit enjoyed nibbling on these).

Overall:

Basically the Living World Rabbit Resort XL Starter Kit included everything you would need to keep your rabbit happy and healthy...although I do recommend you give him/her fresh fruits and vegetables as well.

The rabbit seemed happy with his cage, he had room to hop around, and seemed to like his new home.
The price on the Living World Rabbit Resort XL Starter Kit though is a bit jaw dropping, at $100.00 at Petland Discount. I was able to locate the Living World Rabbit Resort XL Starter Kit online, but the price was the same, and in some cases even higher.

I'd rate this cage 3 out of 5 stars. Minus a star because the rabbit didn't care for the food included, and minus a star for the ridiculous price.

Recommendation:

Although the rabbit seemed to enjoy his new habitat, for a few bucks more I could of just gotten a full blown hutch.

At any rate though, my cousin was thrilled with her new bunny, and her name is now Peaches.
