Animal Crossing: City Folk Tutorial: How to Get a Bridge Built in Town

Ever since I began playing Animal Crossing, I have run across the same issue with every game that has ever been released. The problem that most of us have is the lack of bridges!

Now don't get me wrong, I love the game, but I am honestly sick and tired of having to run around in circles just to get over a small body of water in the games environment.

Anyone who has ever played any version of Animal Crossing will immediately notice the large town that you roam. Anyone who has ever played will also notice an annoying lack of bridges in order to get to the other side of the town over the river. Most newly made towns come with just 2 bridges (sometimes one). Although it may seem like a lot of bridges, it's pretty annoying when you are far away from either one and you are left with no other choice but to run around the entire town just to get where you need to go.

I recently actually started an entire new game over just because I hated the set up of my town, and where my bridges were placed (way too close to one another, and no bridges at the far bottom of the town).

I recalled in the Gamecube version of Animal Crossing, that Tortimer built me a bridge in my town in a few short days of me playing the game.

I've been playing Animal Crossing: City Folk for a few months now, and still Tortimer has yet to arrive to build a new bridge in my town!

I figured there was obviously some sort of secret that I had to figure out. Something! Something that I could do in order to get a freaking bridge built.

I went over to Town Hall, and went up to the ATM Machine which is located at the left side of Town Hall. I noticed that there was a fund for the town that I could donate my hard earned bells to. I assumed that if I donated some bells to the towns fund, eventually something would come of it.

I was right.

200,000 bells later, and finally, finally, finally a bridge was built in town!

Acquiring that many bells is not an easy task though, and it was a major pain in the butt, but low and behold 200,000 bells later, and the bridge went up so I'm not complaining all too much about it.

Basically in order to get new upgrades in your town you have to be willing to shell out the big bucks into the towns fund.

If you keep donating to the fund, you will unlock even more town upgrades which are pretty damn neat.
