Candy Review: Icebreakers Chewy Sours, Strawberry Blast

I tend to always fall prey to the new candies that I come across during my wait on the check out line. Mostly I try avoiding chocolate, and go for a new gum, or solid suck candy. You know something to keep my mouth busy on the way home, or during office hours when I forget to pack myself a lunch (which is like everyday).

I have come across all sorts of odd candies in my time, from gum that promised to release energy into my body, to candy pellets promising to help loose weight! Yep! I have seen it all.

My favorite impulse grab though has always been gum. Icebreakers in particular have always been a favorite (the new watermelon gum is to die for!).

Last week though I came across something new from Icebreakers called Icebreakers Chewy Sours. I bought the chewy sours in a lemon flavor. They impressed me so much that I intended on buying another pack whenever I was back in the store.

Instead of the lemon flavor though, I came across Strawberry Blast. I figured the lemon flavor was so good, that the strawberry flavor would be as equally delicious.

Normally I don't like sour candy of any sort, but Icebreakers Chewy Sours are not the type of sour candy that makes your lips pucker, nor will your eyes leak. Chewy Sours instead have a very minor sour taste that ends as quickly as it begins.

Icebreakers Chewy Sours, Strawberry Blast come in an odd elongated pill shaped plastic container.

You access the chewy sours inside of the container by lifting up a lid located on the top of the container. The container of course is a transparent dark pink color, with the name of the candy written on the lid.

Nestled inside of the container are around 25 to 30 of the candies. They have a semi hard outer white shell, with speckles of pink within the white. The moment you pop the lid though you will be greeted with a mouth watering strawberry scent that is pretty strong and inviting.

The strawberry scent it releases reminded me a lot of what a brand new Strawberry Shortcake doll smells like when you take her fresh out of the package! Yep, Icebreakers Chewy Sours, Strawberry Blast manages to get in touch with the inner kid in me due to the familiar scent.

When you bite into the Icebreakers Chewy Sours, Strawberry Blast it gives off a ton of delicious semi artificial strawberry flavoring with a minor sour pinch to it. Once you begin chewing though I came to realize that these chewy sours had a more thick jelly bean type texture to them, and honestly I liked it. A lot.

Now I wouldn't go as far as labeling Icebreakers Chewy Sours, Strawberry Blast something that will freshen your breath, because in all honesty it doesn't. In fact there is really nothing minty about Icebreakers Chewy Sours, Strawberry Blast. All in all, it's just a yummy candy to chow down on whenever you feel like having a little something sweet.

They are the type of candy that when you have one, you must have another. Then another... till finally the container is empty. Yeah, they really are that good.

Where To Buy:

Nearly every superstore or grocery store I have been in sells Icebreakers Chewy Sours, Strawberry Blast. I bought the container for I believe $1.49. I recommend you pick up a pack, in either the Strawberry or Lemon flavor! Both are as equally delicious, and addicting!
