Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB: Review

So my brother this past week saw this ridiculous YouTube video which was a DIY (do it yourself) dent remedy for car dings. According to this bright video, in order to remove a small ding all one has to do is spray the ding with some keyboard dust cleanser (that crap that comes in an aerosol can); next set your blow dryer to a high setting and leave it on the ding (where you sprayed the dust cleaner), and the ding will magically pop out, saving you a trip to the detailer.

My brother; I thought he was smarter than this. He went ahead and tried this DIY remedy on his Escalade, using...my dryer!

The result? The ding is still there, and my dryer melted. He was applying the dryer to close to the surface of the car, which caused my dryer to melt itself on the inside. Yeah.

My dryer was the Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB. We had a loving relationship, me and 174TB...and now that he managed to kill her trying to fix a stupid ding, I had to buy another one. I wasn't going to replace her with a newer model, I wanted my 174TB back!

Why?

The Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB is first off an ionic styler, and for those who don't know what the ionic technology is for, then read on. Ionic Technology basically will tame frizz better than a normal blow dryer. Not only will it tame frizz, but it makes hair easier to manage, and adds a bit of shine.

The Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB also packs ceramic disk technology to protect hair from heat damage.

For me though none of this really matters, the product description can boast all it wants; what matters is how well the dryer works, and for me, the Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB had been nothing but a blessing for the time I had it; thus the reason I placed an order for a brand spanking new one.

The Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB has 3 heat settings, and a cool shot button. The 3 heat settings are pretty self explanatory. Low, medium, and high.

I usually use the highest setting for faster drying, and styling. However if you are still hesitant, and worry about heat damage, you can use the lower settings.

What I loved about the Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB is the fact that it would quickly make it's way through drying every last strand of my thick hair in less than 10 minutes. This dryer truly would knock off a good 20 minutes of styling my hair.

How Does It Work Against Frizz?

This is the main reason I bought the Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB. It promised to combat frizz. My last dryer was a nightmare, and my hair would look like a giant poof ball if I were to use it. With the Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB though, I will admit to some frizz, but nothing quite like my last dryer. A few frizzes at the top of my head would spring up, but it is nothing a quick run of a straightener couldn't handle.

The best thing about the Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB though is that it does not poof up hair. Frizz I can handle, but the poof that most dryers leave behind always annoyed me, and added a ton of time when it came to straightening flat.

Overall the Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB works quite well up against frizz, and marvelous when it comes to poof.

Long Hair? Short Hair? Thick Hair? The Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB has you covered:

Up until this weekend, my hair used to touch my butt, and the Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB only took around 8 minutes to dry it out; and believe me, my long hair was not only long, but extremely thick.

I cut my hair, and I know that the Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB will dry it in less than 3 minutes.

Weight:

The Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB weighs in at 2.8 pounds, which for some could be a little bothersome. However it truly dries hair so quickly that you are done before you would even begin to feel any strain from the weight of the dryer.

Overall:

The Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB is the best dryer I have ever used on my hair. With fast drying action, and me not having to worry too much about heat damage, I could not ask for more. This is the reason why I placed an order on another one after mine got destroyed.

You can purchase the Conair 1875 Watt Ceramic Ionic Styler, Model 174TB online at the official Conair website, or you can find it at local stores such as Target, or Walmart. The price comes to around $40.00. For me, it is $40.00 well spent.
