Review: Limited Edition Oreo, Old Fashioned Candy Cane Cream

As soon as winter holidays approach some major food/snack companies will release limited edition flavors of their product. One particular limited edition yum fest was released without my knowledge.

Lucky for me though I just happen to stumble upon these delicious delights this weekend while out doing some Christmas shopping.

I spotted them on right smack on the outskirts of the candy isle. Sitting all together in a large stacked pile. I grabbed 4 packages. Nearly everyone I know loves Oreo's and I knew that giving some of these cookies out would be a good gift for my Oreo Cookie connoisseurs.

These Limited Edition Oreo, Old Fashioned Candy Cane Cream come in the most adorable Oreo package I have ever seen Oreo cookies deliver. The package is blue for the most part, but the cover is actually drawn up in a very cute old fashioned type of way. Featuring retro text, a large candy cane in the background, and an Oreo Cookie sort of floating on the package looking like a cookie snowflake. Whomever executed this package art is pretty talented.

At home I opened one of the packages, and gave this new Limited Edition Oreo, Old Fashioned Candy Cane Cream a try. As I opened the package the first thing that hit me was the strong pepper-minty candy cane aroma. Yum!!!!

The Limited Edition Oreo, Old Fashioned Candy Cane Cream is delicious, but it is also extremely familiar. It tastes almost exactly like Mint Oreos. The thing I mostly loved about Limited Edition Oreo, Old Fashioned Candy Cane Cream was the fact that the cookie itself was extremely crunchy and fresh. A lot crunchier and fresh that I'm used to, which was a major plus.

The candy cane cream is white, and was a lot creamier than the Mint Oreos are, so there is another plus in that department.

Limited Edition Oreo, Old Fashioned Candy Cane Cream are good, don't get me wrong, but one bite and you too will note that it tastes almost exactly like Mint Oreos. Now even though the cookies have a familiar flavor, they still make for the perfect cheap gift for anyone who loves Oreos.

You have to scoop these up fast! I was able to pick up a few packages at Walmart for only $2.50 each. Limited Edition flavors go fast, and once they are gone, they don't come back!
