I travel abroad about twice a year, and every hotel or resort stay I
find that I absolutely hate their blankets and sheets, in fact the whole
idea of sleeping on top of a blanket, or sheet that was once used by a
complete stranger disgusts me. It's a personal peeve of mine.
Back in May when we were planning a trip to Mexico I decided this time
around I would come prepared. I wanted to bring my own sheets, however I
did not want to compromise my luggage weight, or size, so I knew I
would have to get something thin and small enough to pack. I knew it
would be hot in Mexico, so I decided to get a silk or satin sheet, just
something simple that would keep me cool, yet not add much weight to my
suitcase.
While browsing around Marshall's I came across something even better
than just an ordinary sheet. It was as if the blanket Gods had heard my
wish and delivered to me a Dreamie.
What is a Dreamie?
It's an As Seen On TV product; and I know what you are thinking, it
sucks right? Well no. In fact the Dreamie was seriously like a dream,
because I did not have to pack it. It came packaged inside of a carrying
case tiny enough for me to place into my carry on luggage, however, it
was so wonderful that I did not need to pack it, it ended up becoming my
blanket for the plane ride as well.
Basically its a 3 in one, its a top sheet, a bottom sheet, and even
includes a slit for you to insert a pillow. A perfect sleeping device if
you ask me, and perfect for vacation time, and the plane ride.
The blanket is a thin silky satin sheet that is more or less a
sleeping bag, just thinner, and more comforting to the skin. I was able
to place the hotel pillow into the Dreamies pillow case slip, and I
slept like a baby, with the cool and comforting satin material.
It does not confine you either, and there is plenty of room inside of
the Dreamie, allowing you to easily twist and turn throughout the night.
Overall:
The Dreamie is a perfect companion to take along with you on
vacations, or for other travels, such as planes, trains, and long road
trips.
It is not made of cheap material, and I abused the thing for an entire
week, and it never lost a thread or tore. It's seriously a must for
those who travel a lot, and hate hotel blankets and sheets.
