Dunkin' Donuts has seemed to release a new limited edition flavor of
ground coffee everytime I enter my local Target on a weekly basis.
Although they bags of coffee are expensive, in the long haul they save
me money, and seem to be delivering the best flavored ground coffee I
can find.
When I came across Dunkin' Donuts Mocha Mint Coffee, I was excited to
give it a try. The packaging is also a contributor to my purchase, as it
features a more holiday theme unlike its competitors on the shelf
nearby. On this bag of coffee, you find a snowman with his face made up
of chocolate pieces, and a candy-cane dot as his center button. All in
all, it is eye catchy, and being a consumer it's simple stuff like that,
which add to my reasons of why I feel the need to buy it. Typical
consumers, Dunkin' Donuts knows us. Haha!
Aroma and Brew:
Dunkin' Donuts Mocha Mint Coffee smells a little intimidating at
first, a medium burnt roast scent fills your senses, followed by a
chalky chocolate powdery scent, and then a little sprig of mint to top
it all off.
I wondered if I would like it at all.
Brewing the coffee was even more unappealing, as the minty scent seemed to overwhelm more than anything else.
Dunkin' Donuts Mocha Mint Coffee With Milk and Sugar:
The coffee tasted OK actually with just regular milk and sugar. The
minty scent does not overwhelm as I initially thought it would, due to
the aroma.
The flavoring that you get initially starts off with a standard coffee
flavor, followed by a very subtle hint of mocha, and after you are done
swallowing, you get that tiny bit burst of mint. The flavors all mixed
as one go really well together.
The perfect finish off would have been a chocolate dipped candy cane stick to use to stir it.
Overall:
It's a really delicious brew of coffee. A nice holiday, or even
pre-holiday coffee. If you are interested in giving this try a flavor do
not hesitate to buy it if you actually find it, as it will not be on
shelves for long.
