During the cooler fall months, I change up my usual coffee drinking
habits, from plain coffee with cream, to flavored coffees, and pair it
up with flavored coffee creamers. I usually do this due to the fact that
a heap of new limited edition seasonal flavors get released onto
shelves, and trust me, they are hard to miss.
When I came across International Delight's newest limited edition
flavored creamer, I was pretty excited, so much so I stopped in my
tracks and did an embarrassing jig right in the isle. It was Almond Joy
flavored creamer, and I simply adore the candy, so I had a pretty good
hunch that I would equally love the creamer.
The creamer is very easy to spot, as it comes in a large container
featuring a label that matches up perfectly to an actual Almond Joy
candy bar. It's got the signature blue seal, and a photograph of the
candy bar split in half displaying the almond center, right on the
creamers container. It definitely sticks out in comparison to the other
creamers in the dairy section.
Unless it is sold out, it's easy as pie to find.
The Flavor:
I brewed up some regular coffee as to not mix and match flavors. I
wanted to see how Almond Joy creamer worked on it's own without any
backup or odd flavored blends that would mess with the flavor.
Adding a small amount of the creamer to my coffee instantly
transformed it into a velvety silky and delicious coffee. The Almond Joy
flavor is not overbearing, but powerful enough as to where you can
taste it, smell it, and enjoy it. The coconut creaminess is what hits
first, followed by a nice bark of roasted almond as the aftertaste. The
original coffee flavoring is also present to the taste-buds, so you
really are not ruining anything when it comes to the actual coffee
flavor.
The one thing I wanted to note though, was that there is no chocolate
flavoring that I was able to detect. This does not ruin the creamers
flavoring though, and it still, very much, tastes like an Almond Joy.
Overall:
International Delight Almond Joy Flavored Creamer is a definite plus
in my morning brew. The only downside is that it's a limited edition,
which means it will only be found for a small amount of time. If you
find it, get it, you will not regret it.
