Review: Peticure Petite Pet Nail Clipper Trimmer as Seen on TV

Time and time again, I have come across the As Seen On TV section at my local mall. This small little shop has racks filled with all sorts of clever and promising gadgets. Me, being the gullible sucker I am, usually end up buying something. I go home, hoping with all hopes that my $20 was well spent... sadly though, 80% of the time I end up feeling like I got taken, so I basically stopped buying anything with the As Seen On TV logo attached to it.

Thats not to say though, that someone won't give you a gift from said company though.

My uncle actually bought my mom the Peticure Petite Pet Nail Clipper Trimmer -As Seen On TV.

The moment I caught a glimpse of it, I hesitated on whether or not it would be a good idea to use this on my dogs nails, especially seeing that my history with the company is a long one, and a not so pleasant one.

The Peticure Petite Pet Nail Clipper Trimmer As Seen On TV though would be a wonder if it actually worked. We have a lot of dogs, and keeping up with their nail trimmings are costly, and believe it or not, even when we have a groomer cut their nails we are left nervous, because the nail cutting process for dogs is actually a very dangerous one. Cut too far and you could severely harm your dog. It's rare, but nail trimmings could even cause dogs to bleed to death if not treated on time.

The Peticure Petite Pet Nail Clipper Trimmer As Seen On TV promised a safe, harmless, painless solution to nail cutting. Instead this clever looking tool uses a rotating type file to file the dogs nails. In all reality the concept was pure frigging genius. Why was this device not invented sooner!?!?!

The Peticure Petite Pet Nail Clipper Trimmer As Seen On TV is basically a hand held tool that is shaped like a embossing heater, only the very top of it had a changeable rotating sandpaper like cone that spins quickly when powered on.

The sandpaper disc is protected by a plastic cover with small holes cut into the cover. You are supposed to choose the correct size hole in the top to place your dogs nail into.

There are small sizes and large sizes and sizes in between. You won't have an issue finding the right size to use for your dog. Do note though that the Peticure Petite Pet Nail Clipper Trimmer As Seen On TV is meant for dogs up to 15 pounds. Not larger dogs.

So how did the Peticure Petite Pet Nail Clipper Trimmer As Seen On TV work?
Actually I was impressed.

Before powering the Peticure Petite Pet Nail Clipper Trimmer As Seen On TV on I thought it would be loud, scare my dog, and make for filing the nails impossible.

Once on though I realized that the tool was very quiet, and likely wouldn't scare my dog. Our one dog Peanut though, I imagined he would have a fit when getting his nails done. He is the biggest chicken in the bunch, so I knew if Peanut could sit through it, any of them could.

Peanut didn't have an issue at all. In fact he sat in my lap while I filed his nails down to a healthy length. He actually seemed to enjoy the peticure he was receiving. Haha!

Filing the dogs nails was quick, painless, easy, and mess free seeing that the chamber collects nail dusting's. Some dusting though does fly up as its filing, which is pretty gross. If you are the queasy type put on a hospital mask.

The other dogs had no issues either. They sat on my lap, and made filing their nails simple. Usually when we have to do anything that involves keeping our pets healthy, they fight us. We have to hold them down for hair cuts, or have one person hold the dogs mouth open while another shoves in medication.

With the Peticure Petite Pet Nail Clipper Trimmer As Seen On TV, I didn't need anyone to hold the dogs down because they didn't seem bothered by it.

Overall:

The best invention for animals, since the veterinarian. A safe, harmless, painless device, that pets will actually tolerate without putting up a fight. I highly, highly, highly recommend this to ANYONE who has a dog or cat.
