Gain is by far my families first choice preference when it comes to
laundry detergents. The original formula has always been our number one
pick, but as the years have gone by, we have noticed our beloved Gain,
gaining more popularity and with this popularity of course comes new
means of attracting new customers.
Gains way of trying to grab in new customers is quite clever, but at
the same time it is getting a little overwhelming. New scents seem to be
releasing every year, and honestly picking up detergent has never been
more time consuming, because we are picky people, and we want to smell
ALL of them before buying one of them.
When I came across Gains newest scent from the Joyful Expressions
collection called Apple Mango Tango, I had to try it. Apple scented
products such as candles or home fragrance sprays have always been a
favorite of mine, so I figured...hey, why not on my clothes?
Gain Joyful Expressions Apple Mango Tango comes in a cute red
detergent bottle with a clear picture of apples and mango's.
I opened
the lid in the store and gave it a sniff. Clearly the detergent was a
must buy! The scent of fresh crisp delicious apples hit my nostrils and
made my mouth water.
Yahooo!!! Gain managed to truly capture the essence
of apples, and it was lovely. The mango though was not even obvious, in
fact I didn't even smell it. Really all I was inhaling was sweet
delicious apples, and nothing more. So much for the mango.
At any rate though, I loved it, and there was no way I wasn't leaving
it behind. Before getting home though, I wished and hoped that this
glorious apple-rama would stick with my clothing after washing with Gain
Joyful Expressions, Apple Mango Tango.
I gathered up some clothes that needed to be washed, and went ahead and used some of the detergent.
The Results?
Well holy heck, Gain Joyful Expressions, Apple Mango Tango smelled
wonderful on my clothes after removing them from the dryer. The sweet
apple fragrance filled the laundry room, and my clothing looked clean as
well as smelled clean, and fruity!
There was a huge downside though. My blanket reeked of the apple
deliciousness as I removed it from the dryer, but as I was putting the
blanket on my bed, I realized the scent had died down by nearly 80%. I
assumed that perhaps I was smelling it in too large of doses, and I was
already used to it. I figured the scent was there, but I couldn't smell
it at the moment. Sort of like perfume. You can't smell it after awhile,
but others around you can.
I figured when I came back to bed later, the glorious apple scent would be all over me.
Hours later, and crawling into bed tucking myself in under the covers I
noticed nothing. There was no scent of apples, there was no scent of
mango's. No scent at all. My blanket felt soft and clean, I'll give it
that, but as far as long lasting scent... Gain Joyful Expressions Apple
Mango Tango was a complete failure!
Overall:
Gain Joyful Expressions, Apple Mango Tango is not worth buying. Stick
to the original Gain formula if you want gorgeous fresh, long lasting
scent.
