I prefer good old fashions massages. You know, two hands, some pressure,
and some rotating finger action; throw in a little massage oil, and I
am in heaven. Sadly though my boyfriend will only give me these massages
whenever he is looking to get lucky. Other nights I am stuck begging
for a massage. I guess I get declined because I never reciprocate.
When my boyfriend came across the HoMedics Quad Massager at his
sisters house, we both gave it a try and actually enjoyed the powerful
buzzing massage that this little hand held alien delivered.
Yes, the HoMedics Quad Massager actually does resemble some sort of
robotic bug. It had an oval shaped body with an easy to hold handle
built into the oval shaped body. Hanging from its body are 4 octopus
like legs, with round balls attached to each leg. What is cool about
these round balls is that they light up.
The HoMedics Quad Massager comes in 4 colors, so depending on the
color you purchase, will be the color the balls light up. I find that
the lights are unnecessary, but the lighting is cool, I guess, if you
are into novelty.
After trying his sisters, we went out and picked up our own little
robotic bug alien for a low price of just $9.99. I of course wanted th
pink color, just because it was girly, and I also assumed it'd be easier
to find if we ever lost it.
My Use:
So seeing how my boyfriend bought it, I had to use it on him first,
and then it was my turn next. I clicked the massager on using the easy
to click in button located right at the top of the massager.
At first it was very easy to use, and the massager easily slid around
his back. He seemed to be enjoying it, but less than 10 minutes later I
had to stop because it was making my hand tingle. The vibrations not
only massage his back, but they were also massaging my hand, which in
due time caused it to tingle and feel like it had gone numb.
I guess that was the Que...it was now his turn to massage me.
He clicked it on, and noticed right away that one of the lights on the
balls had gone out. That sucked because just 10 seconds ago it was lit,
and bright, now it was dead.
No matter I guess. It still worked, so it was not such a big deal.
He ran the massager around my back. Oh...ahhh... nice. I was surprised
at how powerful this little massager was. It seemed to vibrate heavily,
but at the same time not so strong that it actually hurt, like some massager's do.
I truly enjoyed the massage that the HoMedics Quad Massager delivered.
What sucked though was that 10 minutes later my boyfriends hand also
got that strange tingly feeling and he had to stop.
Overall:
The HoMedics Quad Massager is a really great hand held massager that
can be used for only short periods of time. Even though I wish I/he
could hold it longer for a longer massage, it just is not possible.
Although it is difficult to keep in your hand for long, it is still a
really great mini massage, for a really great price. 10 minutes I
suppose is just enough time for it to work out stressed muscles in your
back, and you feel great afterward. For only $9.99 you really can't beat
it.
What is also great about it is that it can easily be stored right on
your bed stand. Most hand held massages with functions and tons of
features need to be plugged in, and the weigh a mini ton, and are not
easily stored, so I feel the HoMedics Quad Massager is an excellent
device compared to higher end massager's.
Pros:
-Gives a powerful massage
-Lightweight; hand held
-Muscles feel less tense after using massager
-Stores away easily
-Very cute futuristic design
Cons:
-Lights die quickly
-Can only be held for so long, till your hand goes numb
-Balls do not rotate, which would of been nice
Where To Buy:
My boyfriend picked our HoMedics Quad Massager up in our local Kohl's
store. You can find this same massager in other similar department
stores such as Target, Walmart, or local malls.
