Movie Review: The Hottie and the Nottie

Paris Hilton; she was basically the main reason why I even bothered to pick up a copy of The Hottie and The Nottie.

A DVD cover that contained such a stupid photo would normally not peak my interest. Seeing how the photo on the cover had Paris Hilton on it though, I had to watch it.

I like Paris Hilton, I admit it freely. After watching The Hottie and the Nottie, though for the first time I will be honest with myself, and say that this is likely the worst acting she has ever done.

The DVD case basically showed a photo of Paris Hilton, who obviously is The Hottie, and some other girl who was dreadfully ugly. The Nottie.

Before even popping the DVD into my player, I had a hunch that this films plot would work out like this:

There is a hot girl, with an ugly friend. There is a boy, the boy wants the Hottie, and tries desperately to get the hot girl. During his quest to winning the heart of the Hottie, he will wake up and realize he loves the Nottie.

I thought the film would go this way. Most lame films with ugly girls, and hot girls in the mix end this way. I was hoping though that The Hottie and The Nottie would offer some sort of new twist.

Only... my hunch was 100% correct. Seriously, that is the plot, and there is no other way to sum it up.

Boy meet up with hot girl from past, hot girl has ugly friend...boy falls in love with ugly girl.

Oh But wait, there is more to this stupid plot...

Boy doesn't fall IN love with ugly till she has her HOTNESS makeover. Ugh! How superficial.
The plot was so dreadfully predictable that it actually hurt to continue watching.

The lame predictable plot though was not the only thing that made the movie painful to watch. Paris Hilton by far was the worst actor in the entire film. The film was primarily based on her, so it was pretty pathetic on how horrible she portrayed her character.

The only fun and humorous parts came from the actress who played The Nottie. Everyone else though I couldn't relate to. They were either boring, delivered fake lines, or just acted fake in general.

Overall:

I love Paris Hilton, but I'm sorry I cannot recommend a bad flick when I come across one, and The Hottie and The Nottie is a bad flick. Combined with bad acting, a lack of laughs, and a plot so predictable it's sad.
