Movie Review: Killer Pad 2008

When I first took notice to the DVD cover of Killer Pad, I immediately figured it would be one of those terrible teen horror movies, where topless chicks are running past the screen with their boobs flopping about in every other scene.

I nearly passed the flick up. However once I noticed that the film was brought to me by none other then Robert Englund (aka Freddy Krueger), I rented it out. I knew I liked Freddy...so why not give Freddy a shot. See what this dude can do when it comes to film making.

Killer Pad begins by introducing us to three best friends, who are moving out on their own. The first home they were going to rent out, they get declined because they have a dog.

So while looking for another house, they meet up with an Tranny agent played by Bobby Lee (MadTV). They are given this awesome home for dirt cheap. A home so gorgeous they cannot deny it.

Immediately upon moving in they are greeted by 3 hot chicks who tell them they should throw a housewarming party.

When the 3 realize they have no friends, they instead make up fliers inviting anyone who can read.

Anyhow,

Down in the basement lies a huge fiery hole...out from the hole some evil demon dog arrives, and the guys all think that it is a sewer hole, and the dog was some sort of large city rat.

The guys don't think much of it after that; as a viewer though you immediately know
that this hole is the portal to hell, and it is right their in their basement; waiting to birth some sort of evil.

Anyways, the party begins and everyone is having a kick ass time...till suddenly guests begin dying in unusual ways. Even Joey Lawrence (Blossom) dies in this flick, which was pretty comical. Whoa- he's still hot in a weird Ricky Martin kind of way!

Once the guys discover a bunch of hacked up dead bodies, they contemplate on calling the cops. None of them want to though, and figure they will wait till after the party is over. You see, if they call the cops, the party will end. Neither of them want the fiesta to come to a close, because each of them think they are going to score with the 3 hot chicks (who are obviously sent from hell).

So you watch on as they go about hiding bodies, in creative and comical ways.

The party of course had to eventually come to an end. The 3 hot chicks are exposed as demons from hell with dicks. Once the boys find out the girls have man parts... they battle and fight them back to hell.

My Feelings:

As corny as a plot as Killer Pad had, it was still relatively funny. The movie was definitely different, and did not have tons of boob scenes like I thought it would. There are some very minor R rated scenes, but there was no nudity (unless a midgets butt cheeks are offending to you, there is no reason kids couldn't watch this flick). I'm sure an uncut version will follow soon though giving you perverts all the boobie shots that were cut out of the PG13 film.

One itty issue I had with the flick was that Andy Milonakis starred as a guest in the movie. He had more lines then he could handle. Watching him spit out his lines was just ear numbing; especially at the end when he spit out a bunch of spoken rap garbage.... like he transformed from nerd to gangsta. Whatever go wipe peanut butter on your face! So annoying!

The main actors however all did a good job at portraying stupidity, which at times was a little over done. Other than that though, Killer Pad was a good waste of an hour and a half. I laughed a few times, and didn't find myself yawning at all.

Overall it was a decent comedy horror. I'd give it 3 stars out of 5.
