Review: Fiber One Oats & Peanut Butter Bars

I've been on a diet since Christmas began. I skipped out on all of those yummy fatty servings of pie, cakes, and puddings. As sad as it was, I managed to lose a few lbs off of my stomach area. I however have issues with dieting. I go into a diet head strong, completely motivated, and I manage to drop pounds fast. Unfortunately all it takes is one BAD food to set my diet habits back into fatty territory. I know this is my main problem, and whenever someone invites me over for dinner, I always have issues because it's hard trying to turn down their high carb meals, high sugar deserts...especially when the host is telling you to eat, and that you are weird for not eating.

Like I said though, for me, all it takes is one taste of something high in fat, and my diet it all out of whack. I find myself craving those bad foods, that I had managed to avoid for weeks.

I have managed to stick to it though. Mostly my downfall has always been sweets. Chocolate, peanut butter cups, Hershey kisses, etc.

Although I'm dieting I am well aware that I can have chocolate, only in small portions. I've been a handful after handful type of person, so I just stay away from them all together.

When I came across Fiber One bars though, I found the perfect sweet snack to crave that chocolate craving, and I was hooked. I bring one to work with me everyday and have it as my lunch substitute.

This past week though while browsing my local Target I came across a new Fiber One bar called Oats & Peanut Butter.

Seeing that their chocolate chip bars are delicious, I assumed the Oats & Peanut Butter bars would be equally as good. Boy was I right!

The Oats & Peanut Butter bars come in nearly an exact box that the original flavored bars come in, only they have a red color added to the box, instead of blue.

The bars are all individually wrapped, and come in a pack of 6, or more if you manage to find the 10% more bars package.

The bars themselves are a decent portion size as to where you can enjoy the bar without feeling guilty, even though they taste good enough as to where you would think you should feel guilty.

Each bar contains 4.5 grams of fat, 150 calories, 0 trans fat, 2 grams of saturated fat, 9g sugar, 28g carbohydrates, 0 cholesterol, 105mg sodium, and 9g of fiber.

These are not your typical diet bars though. They don't taste like cardboard, nor do they have a chewy tar like consistency like so many bars I have tried before. These Fiber One Bars are actually delicious!

Oats & Peanut Butter contain visible oats, peanut butter drizzle on the top, flecks of what look like puffed rice, and small peanut butter chips throughout the bar. They taste authentic, and not fake.

All in all Fiber One, Oats & Peanut Butter is a delicious lunch alternative for those looking to loose weight. The bar tides me over till dinner time, and I feel energized and not weighed down after eating just one. Best of all though it satisfies that craving for something sweet, yet it's good for you.
