I have been addicted to Fiber One Oats & Chocolate bars for quite
some time now. Not only do they taste like an absolute delicious
chocolate treat, but they are a treat you don't have to feel guilty
about, because these bars are actually healthy!!!
I used to pick these bars up at my local Sam's Club. Recently though
while browsing my local grocery store I came across a new slew of
flavored Fiber One bars that I didn't know existed.
I had grabbed a box of their Apple flavored bars, and hated them.
This past week I found something new added to the family of Fiber One flavors. I must say though, that I hope Fiber One Chocolate Mocha Bars are limited edition!
Appearance:
The newly released bars look pretty similar to the Chocolate &
Oats bars, only by the boxes photo they appear to contain something
within them that look more gooey. At first glance it resembles melted
marshmallow (or something else, that I dare not mention). The top of the
bar contains drizzle. I was not sure at first if the drizzle was
chocolate or mocha flavored drizzle.
Seeing that I love gulping down a tasty frozen mocha drink every now
and then, I figured I would love these bars as well. Best of all I
wouldn't have to feel guilty about it.
Out of the Box:
Fiber One Chocolate Mocha Bars come individually wrapped in a box of
6. I picked them up for around $3.49, which is usually an excellent deal
so long as the bars are actually worth eating.
I peeled off the wrap, and examined the bar. It did not look much
different than the Chocolate & Oats bar. It had the same drizzle on
top, the same oats and puffed rice pieces that all Fiber One bars
contain. I also noticed a small amount of chocolate chips within the
bar.
The smell of the bar hit me immediately. It had an inviting aroma of coffee/espresso.
I took one bite and ...
NASTY!!!
The Fiber One Chocolate Mocha Bar tasted like pure espresso tar, and
it was far too strong to even be enjoyable. The overwhelming overdone
mocha flavor made it feel like I was chomping down on old coffee grinds.
I got through that one bite, and threw out the rest of it.
This is the second Fiber One Bar that I found to be completely
inedible. The Apple Struesel Bars are nasty as well, but not even half
as bad as the Fiber One Chocolate Mocha Bars.
Overall:
Skip out on these. They may look tempting, and you may think they will
be as good as the original Chocolate & Oats bars, but they are not.
They are horrendous foul little devils.
