I usually whiten my teeth 2 months out of the entire year, and the
results are phenomenal. I usually got these phenomenal white teeth using
Crest White Strips.
While browsing my local Sam's Club, I came across my usual brand, but
felt the $49.99 price tag was ridiculous. Sitting next to Crest White
Strips, I came across a whitening strip I had never seen, nor heard of
before. Listerine Whitening Quick Dissolving Strips, Clean Mint. This value pack contained 84 strips, and only came to $29.99. A deal I felt I couldn't refuse.
I figured all white strips were the same, that these were cheaper, had
more in the pack, and would work just the same as my good ol Crest
strips.
HAH!
First off, I opened the strip individual packaging, which is similar
to Crest strips individual seals, and took a look inside. Where the hell
is the strip?
Oh it's a clear strip, so finding it in the small aluminum package is
annoying, and you have to literately dig it out. God forbid you have ANY
moisture on your fingers, because the strip will stick to your fingers,
wrinkle up, and the result is you having to throw out the ruined strip.
After finally getting one out (using tweezers) I then had to figure
out how to apply them, because only one side contains the active
whitening formula. I had to read the box to figure out that you had to
put the strip on according to some ridiculous little triangular cut in
the strip. The triangular cut on the strip has to be placed on by
keeping the cut to the bottom right side. The bottom strip applied using
some other cut method. Read it before applying... or I should say, read
it before 'trying' to apply it.
Applying the strip to my top teeth I had no problems, however if you
don't do it precise, you could end up damaging the entire strip. Trust
me folks, you're going to be wasting a LOT of strips.
Don't even get me started on applying Listerine Whitening Quick
Dissolving Strips, Clean Mint on your bottom row of teeth! This is
nearly impossible, and still I have failed to be able to get them onto
my bottom teeth.
As soon as the strip hits your lip it sticks to it, in turn the whole
strip will begin to wrinkle and morph all out of shape. Making it
impossible to lay the strip evenly across your bottom row of teeth.
At least with Crest white strips I could easily see which side was
meant to go on my teeth, and which side wasn't. At least with Crest
strips, I could apply them without them sticking to my lips or fingers.
Taste:
It gets worse though. Crest White Strips didn't taste like a million
bucks either, but at least it was easy to get the strip off, and clean
any left over goo from your teeth.
This is not the case with Listerine Whitening Quick Dissolving Strips, Clean Mint.
Listerine Whitening Quick Dissolving Strips, Clean Mint is of course
flavored. Clean Mint, so they say. I taste the subtle mint, but for the
most part it tastes like chemical mint. I wouldn't go as far as calling
it clean mint, because it's not.
Dissolving Action?
Listerine Whitening Quick Dissolving Strips, Clean Mint is supposed to
dissolve in your mouth so that way you don't have to worry about
removing it in a certain time frame. Instead it dissolves.
This wasn't my experience! They only slightly dissolve, and leave a
very gooey sticky film on your teeth, which is just straight up
disgusting. In order to get it off, you have to brush your teeth.
Overall:
Listerine Whitening Quick Dissolving Strips, Clean Mint are by far the
nastiest whitening strips I have ever used. So far I have used them for
two weeks, only because I refuse to throw them out. The whitening
results are a hell of a lot slower than Crest strips, but the results
are happening, only at a slower rate.
If you can tolerate loosing a lot of strips while trying to apply, if
you can tolerate the taste and nasty film it leaves behind, then yeah
I'd recommend them. However, for me, as soon as my teeth are white to
where I want them, I'm chucking the rest. They are just to nasty for me
to want to purchase them again.
