Recently I hooked my PC up to my 40" Samsung HDTV to use it as a huge
dream monitor for my computing needs. (Mostly gaming). However as happy
as I was to get that all hooked up, I realized how annoying the keyboard
and mouse became. I didn't have enough wire to bring my keyboard to my
bed, and my mouse's wire was way too short.
I needed mobility, simplicity, and effectiveness when it came to my
mouse and keyboard, I needed to go wireless. Now I already owned a
Microsoft Wireless Mouse, but it seemed to small and rickety when it
came to performance.
When my birthday came I was given a Best Buy Gift Card with $50 on it.
I knew exactly what the $50.00 was going towards. A wireless keyboard
and mouse. Lucky for me, my needs came in a bundle.
Logitech - Cordless Desktop MX3200 Keyboard and Laser Mouse was
priced at $99.99 which was hella high for me. Seeing how I had the gift
card though, I figured a $50.00 investment in a higher quality combo
would be the best option I had.
At Best Buy I was also able to touch and feel each available wireless
keyboard and mouse combo, and the Logitech - Cordless Desktop MX3200
Keyboard and Laser Mouse seemed to be the most comfortable one in the
bunch of other available wireless keyboard and mouse combos.
The keyboard had a slew of high techy features which included lowering
and hiring the volume, setting hot keys, and internet keys for faster
browsing. Not to mention the main reason I bought it; the lovely
integrated soft touch arm rests. No other keyboard came with a soft arm
pad, so I was pretty much sold just on that.
The laser mouse also impressed me with it's extremely comfortable hand
rest. Which allows your whole hand to rest at the top, and a little
side groove on the left for a comfortable thumb rest. The mouse also
seemed constructed of high quality plastic, unlike other mice I placed
my hand on.
The mouse has your normal left and right click buttons, and a middle scroll wheel.
At Home:
Setting the keyboard and mouse up was a freaking cinch. I simply
plugged the USB stick into my PC, and added the included batteries into
the keyboard and mouse.
The Logitech - Cordless Desktop MX3200 Keyboard and Laser Mouse also
came with additional software to set up your hot keys. However I didn't
have a need for this feature as all of the keyboards buttons that I
wanted to work, worked.
I was amazed that I was able to lower the volume and higher it without
having to program it. All of my windows keys worked flawlessly as well,
without the need of installing software to program them.
I have absolutely no complaints with the keyboard aspect of the
Logitech - Cordless Desktop MX3200 Keyboard and Laser Mouse. Keyboard
typing is quite, but clicks at that right sound tempo that actually
makes typing enjoyable. The keyboard also features an LCD screen at the
upper top of the keyboard.
The display however has no back light, so
it's pretty useless. It is there though, if you want to look at the
time. For me it's a pointless little feature, but still...it's alright
being there.
Was the mouse just as wonderful?
Indeed. The mouse had complete precision aiming, pointing, and
clicking. I had no glitches, or jumps.
What I loved best of all though
was the fact that I didn't need to place the mouse on special material,
or pads. I simply was able to move it around on my bed, on wood
surfaces, and so on. No issues at all!
The mouse is a little heavier than what I was used to, but it did not
bother me, as it felt it was heavier because it is of higher quality.
Some however may find this a flaw. I disagree though. If you drop this
mouse, it won't break; where if you drop a light rickety mouse, it may
crumble.
One issue I have also heard is that there is no OFF feature. Well
people, there is an on/off feature. It's located right at the bottom of
the mouse. Click it off to save battery life. It's pretty simple, and
missing the on/off switch it is sort of lazy on your own behalf.
Overall:
The Logitech - Cordless Desktop MX3200 Keyboard and Laser Mouse is by
far one of the coolest most reliable gadgets I have ever used. I have
had no issues with the mouse, or the keyboard. It has a 20 foot range,
and I can pretty much roll up in bed with the keyboard on my knees, and
the mouse at my side for browsing the net on my HDTV.
It doesn't get cooler than that.
