I am not a dress person, in fact having to buy new dresses whenever some formal occasion pops up makes my skin crawl.
When I needed a new dress for an upcoming wedding though, I wanted
something that was not just pretty, but something that would be
stunning, jaw dropping stunning, without having to put a hole in my bank
account.
I searched endlessly, and came up blank. While home one afternoon I
began browsing through our daily mail, and came across Pyramid
Collections catalog. Now I love Pyramid Collection, they have a huge
selection of beautiful dresses, clothes, jewelery, and an array of other
delights that will stun the eye with their beauty and glory.
I found a pretty dress in the catalog, and decided to check it out
online, to see if I could get it for less, or if they had other styles
similar to it.
While browsing their selection of gowns, I nearly passed out when I
saw this seductive looking luscious piece of love they called a dress.
The dresses name was Velvet Moonbeam, and instantly I was attracted.
On the site it featured a gorgeous long floor length black velvet
dress, with a decorate top toward the bust. Running down the middle of
the dress though was a stunning deep lilac colored strip of velvet that
simple draws you in and seduces you.
A stunner no doubt. I did not even hesitate. I placed my order, and waited for this velvet dream to show up at my front door.
Velvet Moonbeam Arrives:
The day came when the dress arrived at my door, and I could not wait to see what it looked like in person.
I tore it open and unfolded it, and before me sat a depressed looking
version of what was displayed on the website. The lilac color was not
lilac at all, in fact it was a much darker blue color than it was
purple.
I put the dress on, and it fit perfectly, the decorative bust piece
was still lovely, and matched perfectly to the image on the website,
however the dress seemed so much more Halloween like and drab than what
was represented on the site. The seduction was non-existent, the
alluring hues of sex goddess stripped, the beauty of it all, melted
down.
Now I know that they say colors will be different depending on the
screen, but I am sorry, I viewed their web page on multiple screens. My
work PC, my home PC, my laptop, and even on my cell phone, and each time
the dress had the same lovely lilac velvet running down the middle.
When viewing Velvet Moonbeam in person, the colors were a different
story.
Granted the dress in person is not ugly or anything, it is, in my opinion not nearly as attractive as what I saw on my multiple screens.
Returning It!!!
So I held on to the dress longer than I anticipated, I could not
decide if I should just wear the thing, or not. However after finding a
nicer dress, for far less, I decided to contact customer service over at
Pyramid Collection, and sadly it is now 3 days since I sent them an
email, and still I have yet to get a response about how to go about
returning the dress. Bothersome to say the least, considering their
website claims to let you return your purchase for any reason.
I'm shooting them 1 more email to see what is up, before I put in my final evaluation on this website.
Customer Service:
Nearly non-existent. My numerous emails went unanswered up until I
gave it a week and threatened with disputing the charges. I was told
they would refund my money to just return the dress for a full refund,
and to include my order number in with the dress, so they knew who to
refund.
I did this, and waited a week thinking that when they got the dress
they would reimburse my account. When I never got an email, I decided to
email them and ask if they got it back yet. No reply.
Another week goes by; I ask again. Is the dress there yet? No reply.
Another week rolls by, and still no reply. Finally I just called
customer service and low and behold they got the dress that day. How
shocking. I am still dazzled at how it took 3 weeks to get back to them.
I look on my statement though and there is no refund though.
24 hours later the refund was issued, but not the charge for shipping,
they kept that money. It kind of bothered me that they kept my $14.95,
and that I had to send it out back to them and pay another $14.00.
So there you have it folks, save yourself the $30.00 shipment charges;
money you will never get back, and skip out on this dress. In fact, I'm
so bothered by this company that I would just skip out on ordering
anything from them in the future, no matter how dazzling it looks.
