Review of Bark Bars, Dog Treats

When I came across a pack of Bark Bars for my dog, I at first stopped to take a close look to make sure that the store did not place these bars down the wrong isle, and that is because these Bark Bars are packaged to look like a Krackle bar, a Hershey's Bar, a Mr. Goodbar, and a Crunch bar. Initially that was what I thought they were, a pack of candy bars for humans, accidentally placed down the dog isle.

A closer inspection revealed that these bars were in fact made for dogs, but dressed up to attract those of us who pamper our pets as if they were our children. Bark Bars naturally made it into my shopping cart, I just couldn't get over the clever packaging, and seeing that my dog will eat just about anything, I had a hunch before even handing them over to him that he would love them.

Getting the bars out of their packages though were a little time consuming, and a bit annoying. Each bar is individually wrapped in a tight plastic wrap that you have to work off of the bar. Each bar also comes in in a distinct flavor.

After opening one up, I liked how they attempted to make the bars look like real chocolate, however they are not chocolate, they are indeed average looking dog biscuits, with neat chocolate or peanut butter flavors added to them. They do not smell good though, but dog biscuits never really do.

Our Bull Terrier did not seem to mind the lack of scrumptious scent, as he chomped down the entire thing happily in just a few seconds.

My smaller Yorkie on the other hand wanted nothing to do with the Bark Bars, not even the ones that had a much nicer scent to them.

We bought these primarily for our big guy though, and he seemed to love them. The cute packaging of course is to get you to buy them, and hey, it worked. I bought them, the dog liked them, and I would more than likely buy them again.

His favorite in the bunch though seemed to be the Mr.Goodbar lookalike.
