Movie Review: Little Vampire

I love vampire movies, whether they are downright scary or fun flicks designed with kids in mind. One movie that has caught my heart year after year during the month of Halloween is Little Vampire.
Little Vampire is basically a movie about a little boy named Tony who is obviously obsessed with vampires. In the beginning of the movie he is plagued with dreams about vampires, and he talks about them non-stop. It was no surprise that a little vampire boy would become attached to him. Tony actually ends up making friends with the vampire that goes by the name of Rudolph. Rudolph has the body of a 7 year old, but in all reality he is actually a 300 year old vampire.
With any vampire movie, when there are vampires in town, there always has to be a vampire hunter, and Little Vampire is no exception. In this movie you will watch as a mortal boy helps a vampire and his family escape the vampire hunter, while seeking out a red stone which will supposedly turn the family of vampires into mortals once again. The vampire hunter is hot on their trails, because he has other plans for the red stone.
Does Tony end up saving the family of vampires? Does the vampire hunter use the stone against the vampires? Does Rudolph turn Tony into a vampire?
I will not ruin the movie for those who have yet to see it, but I will say this; Little Vampire is a fun filled adventure, filled with excitement, tons of humor, and family values. The movie is perfect for those looking for a scare-less Halloween movie to watch with the entire family.
Acting:
The actors in Little Vampire all did an excellent job at portraying their characters. Tony who is played by Jonathan Lipnicki is absolutely adorable, and really draws you into the flick with his adorable smile and mild lisp. He by far was my favorite actor in the film.
The other actors did an excellent good job at portraying their characters as well, but for me, the gold star goes to Johnathan.
Age Recommendation:
I'm telling you that Little Vampire is not scary at all, and children ages 5 or younger should not have an issue with this one.
Overall Opinion:
Little Vampire is excellent for those who are too young for scary vampire movies, and Little Vampire allows them to take their first small steps towards watching actual horror movies. Little Vampire is not scary at all, and kids of all ages will love it.
I loved it, and usually I only enjoy all out gory vampire movies. Little Vampire though is one of those films that I have been plopping into the VCR year after year during the week of Halloween.
Where To Buy It:
You can purchase or rent Little Vampire at any local Blockbuster video store. You can also find it at Amazon
