Review: Kurt Adler, Medallion Collection Glass Pool Ball Ornament Set

Finding gifts for everyone in my family is a pretty hard task, because most of the males in my family don't really have any hobbies, at least none I can spot out in the open, and easily. Most of the men in my family love booze, and honestly I'm not going to supply to their habit, even if it is Christmas.

I stumbled upon something though this past weekend at my local Target that I simply could not pass up.

All this time I had been focusing on the drinking issues in my family, that I never took a closer look to realize that they actually play pool, while they get bombed of course.
 
Here sitting before me I came across a 15 glass ornament set, in an adorable triangular shaped box. Ornaments!!! Pool ball ornaments!!!

Now I knew it wasn't something that all of the guys in my family would care for, but seeing how most of them are recently divorced, I figured their ex wives had all of the Christmas ornaments, so I may as well supply them with these, manly, mans ornaments!

The ornaments are all colored in the correct fashion as a real pool ball set would be. The black 8 ball, red solid 3 ball, solid yellow 1 ball, and so on. Nothing is off about them, except of course their size.
The pool ball ornaments are only 4MM in size, and are made by Kurt Adler. (I have no idea who that is, but for some reason I'm sure it's important to some collector out there, haha!) To get a better understanding at their size, I would say they are only slightly bigger than a ping pong ball, but not by much.

The glass the pool ornaments are made of is very fragile, and thin to the touch. If you were to squeeze one of the ornaments too hard it could easily shatter, so handle these ornaments with care and ease.

Some of the pool ball ornaments have a high shiny finish, while others have a more matter look to them.
The striped balls seem to have a less shiny finish to them, while the solid balls have a much more shiny finish. All in all though, the set looks as if it goes together, there is nothing off or un-matching about them.

All 15 pool ball ornaments have a golden colored metal hanger attached to each ornament, making for easy hanging from the tree.

All in all the Kurt Adler Pool Ornaments look fantastic, and would make for an excellent gift for that special guy who is nearly impossible to shop for.

I definitely recommend this set. They are cute, manly, sporty, and adorable, all rolled into 15, 4MM glass balls.

I found the set at my local Target for $9.99. Although at this time it may be difficult to find any remaining sets there, I still recommend you look, because online vendors such as Amazon are selling the exact set of pool ball ornaments for a few dollars more, and shipping costs. If you want to save money, I recommend you check local stores before ordering online.
