Krypt Kiddies' Mauly Baby Doll: Not Very Scary, But This Collectible Will Do

I have been collecting Krypt Kiddies since they first hit shelves. I loved the expressions on their faces - those cute little rubber-baby dolls with eyes of red, green and fluorescent-blue. Their sharp teeth and rotting flesh; their cute outfits and black nails.
Mauly was given to me by a friend about two Octobers ago, near Halloween. I'm glad that my friends think of me on my favorite holiday! They better, I spend hundreds of dollars every year to throw them a party.
Mauly came to me in the typical Krypt Kiddies box. There is nothing spectacular about the box, it's a standard box, with photos of the doll, and other dolls in the series.
Mauly is part of the 2005 series 2 collection of Krypt Kiddies. There are approximately 6 dolls in this series.
What makes Krypt Kiddies so unique compared to other little girl's baby dolls is that they are evil. They look as if they were once adorable baby dolls...however once they died they came back as rotten tortured souls.
Mauly in particular has an almost fleshy-colored skin tone, which looks as if she is a fresh zombie baby. Her skin is tan, but small blue/green veins run across her face, which looks as if she is in the beginning stages of decomposing.
Her facial expression for me is somewhat confusing. She smiles as if she is happy, yet her white painted on eyebrows are done up in an angry manner. For me, it seems like her makeup was sort of done up wrong, because underneath the veins, evil eyebrows, and glowing green eyes, she looks rather...pleasant.
In my opinion, she is one of the only dolls in the series that has a sweet expression on her face. In all honesty I was sort of disappointed in this doll. She just didn't cut it as scary. She was in fact, sort of plain.
Mauly's hair is blond, but so blond it is practically white. Her hair is done up in a half pig tail, with a green bow in it to match the rest of her outfit which is a plain black and green dress. She has blue veins on her body that run lightly across her arms and legs. Her lips are a flesh color, and it appears as if they are glossy, her lips are done up in a nice open smile, that displays her rows of sharp jagged teeth, and her fingernails are painted black.
Mauly like all Krypt Kiddies comes with a death certificate, and a plastic baby bottle filled with gooey red fake blood.
Overall Mauly is an OK doll in the series, however like I mentioned, she has the weakest ahhhh, when it comes to scare factor. Mauly is the only doll in this series, and all of the series that looks rather 'nice'.
Why Buy Mauly?
Well, she is not the greatest doll when it comes to the Krypt Kiddies, but because she is part of a collectible series her price climbs year after year, as more collectors seek her out. In 2005 she sold for $29.99, now she is on auction sites and on websites going for double, and sometimes triple her original price.
Mauly also is a must have for Krypt Kiddie collections, and she also makes for one really neat Halloween prop for your home.
