This past month I have grown extremely fond of L'Oreal's HIP beauty
products. My first purchase was the small pot of creamy eyeliner, and
after that I went nuts for everything HIP.
What is L'Oreal HIP?
L'Oreal HIP products are high intensity pigments. It is made using a
micro-fine formula that releases a true intense color. I don't know how
many times I have bought eye shadow that looks really beautiful in the
compact, yet when I apply it, it is actually a lot lighter and dull
looking on my eyes then it is in the compact. It's pretty disappointing.
With L'Oreal HIP what you see in the compact, is what you get.
I bought L'Oreal Hip High Intensity Pigments Concentrated Shadow Duo, in Foxy 808.
Foxy 808 is a duo of 2 colors for me to blend on my eye lids. I choose
Foxy because my eyes tend to look fuller and more defined when I used
darker brown hues mixed with light brown hues.
Foxy though came with a dark brown and a lighter rosy pink colored
shadow. I had never in my life thought about mixing brown with pink
before. I mix browns and pinks with clothing, but I never thought about
taking it to my lids. When I seen the duo, I had to have it. I couldn't
wait to get home to try out this unique mix on my lids.
L'Oreal Hip High Intensity Pigments Concentrated Shadow Duo, Foxy 808
comes in a small black snap shut compact. Inside of the compact is of
course the 2 eye shadows, a mirror that is attached to the inside of the
compact, and a little foam applicator brush.
I threw this piece of crap brush away. I have my own professional
eyeshadow brushes, and using these cheap ones that come with it is like
buying nice makeup and applying it in a manner a teenager would. You may
as well use your dirty greasy finger if your going to use the little
cheap foam applicator.
Before applying L'Oreal Hip High Intensity Pigments Concentrated Shadow Duo, Foxy 808, I first lined my eyes with L'Oreal HIP Cream Eyeliner.
Next I picked out my favorite eyeshadow brush and swiped it back and
forth on to the darker black shadow. I planned on placing this darker
color right above my eyeliner.
I was amazed, the color applied easily, and the color was true and
rich. It was a bit dark, but looked fantastic. Next I blended some of
the lighter rose colored shadow in with the brown and my result was a
look that seemed like something only the professionals can do.
The two colors blend together easily and create a really pretty
Special FX type look. If you don't want to blend the colors, you don't
have to. However you choose to apply L'Oreal Hip High Intensity Pigments Concentrated Shadow Duo, in Foxy 808,
it's going to look good. The color is very visible, and it really
brings out your eyes. For me, it looks best with eyeliner! So don't
forget your eyeliner.
You can apply eyeliner after the shadow as well with L'Oreals HIP
Cream Eyeliner. It doesn't matter when you apply it, before or after the
shadow...but make sure you apply it for the best finished look.
Last:
I'm sure many of you are eager to know how long L'Oreal Hip High Intensity Pigments Concentrated Shadow Duo, in Foxy 808 lasts, and how well it lasts.
For me L'Oreal Hip High Intensity Pigments Concentrated Shadow Duo, in Foxy 808
lasted for the entire day. What was probably the best thing about the
eye shadow though was the fact that it did not smudge or budge. The
color stood put. It did not get into any lid creases, nor did it sport
any greasy looking shine after long term wear.
Colors:
If the brown and pink duo isn't your style you can choose from 10
other eye shadow duos. In colors such as purple, blue, pink, and green.
There is a compact with the perfect color combination for you.
Where To Buy:
I found my compact at my local CVS. You too can find them at any local
drugstore, or super store nationwide. The price will be anywhere from
$6.99 to $7.99.
Overall:
L'Oreal Hip High Intensity Pigments Concentrated Shadow Duo, in Foxy 808
is the perfect color for those who like darker looking eyes. The shadow
stays on, it stays on long, and it's truly a winner in my book.
I can honestly say that L'Oreal Hip High Intensity Pigments
Concentrated Shadow Duo, in Foxy 808 is probably my all time favorite
eye shadow...till I find something else that is. Hehe!
Enjoy!
