Review of Red Tennis Shoes: Pet Booties for Dogs

He stands in at about 7 inches tall, he wears a size extra small. He's my best friend. My companion, my child; my dog.

I spoil my dog. I won't lie. If he wags his tail when he wants something, he gets it. I almost had my dog die a few years back, and since, he has bee nothing but spoiled; rotten.

I have always loved buying clothes for him, he looks cute, they keep him warm, and all of that other good dog stuff. However as time went on, the usual t-shirt from Walmart was just not cutting it anymore. I began buying him designer duds from Pucci, and Trixie and Peanut. My upper class dog, wears clothing and shoes that sometimes surpass the price of my own duds. He has sun glasses, hats, scarves, and my most recent obsession has been shoes.

I've bought him a few pairs of kicks at my local Target; but if anyone has ever seen the Target brand shoes, they already know that the shoes are all designed the same, only the colors vary. After buying every freaking color available, I branched out, and searched the horizons for something new, something more modern...something no one else would spend so much money on.

My last; I mean Bubbies last pair of shoes came to $65.00. The Tennis Shoe Style Pet Booties were adorable. I found them online at TrixieandPeanut.com, and had my eye on the for quite some time before I actually bought them.

I have had the pint sized canvas shoes for about a year now, and the shoes have been the easiest and most lightweight shoes he has ever worn. The Tennis Style Shoes do take some getting used to, as most dogs will not know how to walk properly in them. My recommendation is to use them for small amounts of time till your dog gets used to them.

My guy has been wearing shoes since I could remember, so wearing them came easily with no problems.

I do not make him wear them every day. But I will put them on him on hot summer days when I know he could burn his paws on concrete. I also put them on during cold days/snow days so he can avoid salt burning his paws.

I know I'm making excuses for why I bought them. I DID buy the Tennis Style Dog Booties for those reasons, but in all reality, I bought them because they matched the dogs oh so cutie pah-tootie overall jeans. (Tee-hee). The shoes were simply adorable. They reminded me of red Converse sneakers I had worn as a kid.

The shoes themselves are basically mini converse tennis shoes. I bought my dogs in the color red, however you can choose either black, blue, pink, or red.

The canvas shoes are made of lightweight canvas, and have 2 shoe lace holes placed neatly on the sides of the tiny shoe. The shoes do lace up, but the laces are not how they stay on your tiny ones paws. The bottom of the Tennis Style Pet Boots are made of rubber, so they are durable all year round, even in rain/snow.

Once you have applied the shoe to the feet, you simple zipper up the side zip, and wrap the attached velcro strap around his paw. Once you have them on snuggly (but not tight) you can let him get used to the shoe. The shoe will NOT fall off of the dogs paw while running (unless you bought a size too big- be sure to measure before buying).

The shoes are designed with doggies paws in mind, and the insoles are shaped for comfort and safety. My dog has worn his to the beach and ran through sand with ease (some sand did of course get into the shoe).

The sneakers also have sewed in socks. The socks though are only for appearance on the outside of the shoe. They do not fill the insole of the shoe.

The Tennis Style Pet Shoes are also extremely easy to clean. Whenever my dogs shoes are looking a little dirty I simply place them in a bucket of hot water with soap for awhile. I then let them air dry for a few days.

I love the Tennis Style Pet Boots. They seem to be the easiest pair of dog booties he has ever worn, as he does not seem to bother with them (chew at them) when they are on his feet.

I have had the Tennis Style Dog Booties for a year or so now, and have never had an issue with them. The soles are still on, there are no rips/tears in the shoes, and the velcro/socks are still as good as new.

Tip-
 
Make sure you measure your dogs paws before spending the money on these shoes. They are very tiny shoes, and a size small may not fit a normal sized small paw.

These shoes are designed with Chihuahuas, Yorkies, and other very small toy sized dogs in mind.
