I have never been one to write a review on jewelery. I never really
found a piece or owned a piece long enough for me to even bother with
wanting to review it. Jewelery comes and goes in my life. Usually it
goes because it breaks, I loose it, or just stop liking it.
Seeing how Valentine's Day is right around the corner, I figured I'd share one of my most favorite gifts I got last year.
An Opal Ring
Not just any ol' Opal ring. A heart shaped opal stone. Surrounded by 2
very small diamond stones. The ring came from Samuel Jewelers on
Amazon. Honestly I had no idea I was getting a ring. Jewelry has always
been something that had never been on my want lists.
I loved the ring, with it's feminine heart shaped stone that appeared
to glow in green, blue, pink and white with every small movement of my
hand.
I however had no faith in the quality. Yes it was a gorgeous
ring...but like any ring I had owned in the past, I imagined the heart
shaped stone would fall out in a few months, and the small diamonds
would fall out in about a week. The band would also bend, and eventually
break.
That is usually the life of all of my rings with stones. They fall out, and eventually become scrap gold.
Samuels Jewelers Created Opal and Diamond Ring; obviously is a created
Opal. No difference for me though. Man made or naturally made, I
figured it'd break.
A year later:
My heart shaped opal is still in mint condition. The 2 diamonds are
still wedged in place, and have shown no signs of falling out. It is as
if I got the ring yesterday. The band, which normally would be bent and
out of shape is still perfect.
I give the ring a beating too. It bangs into things, and still it's held it's own.
I've never cared much about jewelery before getting this ring. Me and
this ring have this little bond, and I love it. I love how the opal
seems to glow like some Superman's Kryptonite.
Opal's are truly spectacular pieces. I never appreciated a stone so much till getting an opal.
Pricing:
I had no clue at the time how much he spent on the ring. I figured
anywhere from $90.00 to $100.
However I was able to find my exact ring
on the exact site he bought it from a year ago.

Pretty spectacular no?
I'm telling you the photo does not even do justice. The stone truly gives off that glow, only more brightly.
Caring for an opal:
When I discovered that an opal ring called for more care then a normal
band and stone ring, I was a little shocked. It turns out that opals
need water to remain intact. If they are not given water the stone will
eventually dry up and crack.
Once a month you should place your opal in a glass of water over night.
I thought this whole routine was weird. My ring, is sort of like a strange beautiful and needy pet.
I submerge mine in water once every other month and have never had an
issue. I'm pretty rough with my ring too, and it has survived my
beatings without cracking the stone.
Overall:
The Samuels Jewelers Created Opal and Diamond Ring, is a gorgeous
ring. It makes for perfect ring for any occasion. Whether it be
Valentine's Day, a birthday, Christmas, or what have you; it is sure to
please just about any girl.
My ring is often mistaken for an engagement ring. It's a really spectacular piece. I highly recommend this ring.
There are other opal rings you could buy, but in my opinion the heart
shaped opal stands out a lot more than an oval shaped one. It reminds me
of glowing love, because the heart really looks as if it is glowing.
