Solar Flexi Light Decor Flowers, Blue Daisies: Review

Recently my boyfriends mother's birthday passed. The woman is relatively easy to please, however I think every year we end up buying her yet another bird house, or watering can to add to her collection.
We were about to do the same this year. A new bird house and a new watering can. While browsing the gardening section at our local Walmart though, we came across a slew of solar powered products, with prices that were actually very reasonable.

I instantly fell in love with a Solar powered flower set. The set is made by Solar Flexi, and on the box it displayed 5 flowers attached to strong green wires, which were done up to look like stems. The green wires were attached to a really cute flower pot base, with a small solar power panel.

According to the box, all we had to do was place the flower pot in the sun, and at night they would glow. Easy enough.

I ended up picking up a blue set for my mom, and a white set for his mom.

The flowers which are attached to the wired stem are made of extremely thick plastic, so you honestly don't have to worry about the flowers breaking. The white flowers have a small yellow tint to the middle of them, as do the blue ones. The blue flowers however have a more glossy finish, while the white flowers are not as transparent.

I worried that because of the non-transparency, that the white flowers would not glow as strong as the blue.

I figured if the white lights gave off a low glow, we'd just return them.

At Home:

I gave my mom her flowers first. She didn't quite get the whole concept. We held the flower pots solar panel directly up to light to see how they would work. After a few moments we turned off the lights to see if they'd glow. No such luck.

However once we realized there was a small black button that needed to be pressed in order to turn them on, things took a turn for the better.

After hitting the small black button, we turned the lights off, and the flowers came to life.

I was expecting them to have a white light glow and nothing more. The Solar Flexi Flowers though surprised me when it gave off a very gorgeous blue glow. Not only did it have a gorgeous color, but the lights also faded in and out which gave them a more romantic and sophisticated look. I had never seen fading solar lights; these were the first, and I must say we were all impressed.

We next opened the white daisies to see if they looked the same. Again we were impressed with the glow the flowers gave off. Even though the flowers were painted fully, they still gave off the same romantic mood setting glow that the blue transparent flowers gave off.

Issue:

I have no huge issues with the Solar Flexi Daisies. They glow wonderfully at night, and turn themselves off during the day. During the day the solar panel absorbs the light, and goes on by itself as soon as it's starts getting dark. There is no interaction needed.

One small issue I have with the Solar Flexi Flowers though is that the green wires which are meant to look like stems should have come with attached leaves. The wires themselves are pretty long, and look a bit awkward looking without leaves.

Overall:

My mom loves the Flexi Lights, my boyfriends mom loves them, and I myself love them. We have had no issues with the Solar Flexi Daises. They have added a nice touch to our front porch. I now am on a quest to hunting out other solar flower lights to add to out yard.

Where To Buy:

We got the Solar Flexi Flowers at Walmart for only $12.88. They are not available at the Walmart website, but can be seen by clicking here.
