The Official Guitar Hero 3 Les Paul Controller Faceplate: Review

My brother and I spend a few extra bucks on one another. This year Santa (muah) flopped the Guitar Hero 3 game pack bundle under the tree. In the store while buying the bundle though, I felt like this thing needed more.

He likes finer things in life, and last year he loved the XBOX360 wood faceplate I bought for his console. So when I came across a faceplate designed for the Les Paul Guitar Hero 3 Guitar, I had to buy it for him. I knew he loved the faceplate I got him last year for the console, and seeing how this one matched somewhat, I knew it was perfect.

I had options, but the best option on the rack for me at that moment was the wooden styled face plate.
I picked it up for $14.99 at my local Gamestop, and knew the beast would love it. It would make his guitar look classy, more expensive, and cooler. I know, how superficial, but hey, he's a superficial dude. I was happy to get him something though that I knew he'd like (besides the actual game and guitar pack).

Appearance:

I bought it because if I was into their Guitar Hero thing, I myself would want this wooden style faceplate. It was sweet. The color was an amber brown swirled with other hues of brown, giving it a marbleized appearance.

The The Official Guitar Hero® FACEPLATE for the Les Paul Controller (wood style) is made of thick plastic. Looking at it in it's package I had no idea how it would clip onto the guitar. I found out on Christmas day though, when he added it to the guitar.

Adding The Faceplate:

It's easy. The Les Paul Guitar Hero Guitar comes with a faceplate. I didn't know that, I thought it was officially sealed to it. You remove the regular faceplate by pulling on the black faceplate it comes with. It clicks out, and you can easily click the new faceplate in place by slipping the grooves into the right holes on the guitar.

Overall Appearance:

I'm not going to lie. I think the whole Guitar Hero video game thing is lame. When the wood faceplate was added to the Les Paul controller guitar though, it truly made the thing look more professional, and more mature. Especially seeing how my brother is 24. It truly set the guitar apart from other guitar hero guitars, and it really gave it that special touch of class and sophistication.

I was actually quite surprised.

Recommendation:

This one is for anyone who has the Les Paul Guitar Hero Guitar. It will add new life to an old black controller, and really is impressive to look at.

I think anyone who is a fan of this game, will adore the The Official Guitar Hero® FACEPLATE for the Les Paul Controller (wooden style). I feel it was $15.00 well spent.
