Freaks and Geeks, like My So Called Life, only lasted one season. But what a season it was!!!
You have Lindsay Weir (Linda Cardellini) and her little brother Sam
Weir (John Francis Daley). Both struggle to break free from childhood,
and the battles that one goes through for acceptance amongst their
peers.
The show is pretty much based on the two of them who are both in opposite cliches in their school.
Lindsay breaks from her perfect straight A student mold to hang out
with the freaks, while her little brother Sam rolls with the geeks and
seeks out how to be cool. Thus the name of the show, Freaks and Geeks.
Sam, who is a complete geek (fluffy brown hair, buggy eyes, and he is
always twitchy and nervous about something), fights throughout the show
to be cool, and to be recognized by Cindy, the girl who he has always had a crush on.
One problem though; Cindy is popular with a handful of popular
cheerleader and football player friends always at her side, and Sam he
travels in a small group of three; Neal, and Bill his nerdy sidekicks.
Sam runs into another problem, Cindy is dating a really popular guy, and
he knows while Cindy is with him, in no way does he even stand a chance
at winning her love. However Cindy remains friends with Sam even though
he is this huge mega geek.
You will sit through the ups and downs of the Cindy/Sam saga, and
Sam's many attempts at getting her to notice him, and the battles Sam
faces against school bullies.
Lindsay used to be a perfect straight A student and her favorite
subject was Math. However now that summer has ended Lindsay approaches
her new year in high school totally different from the girl she was the
year before. Her clothing has changed from pretty pastel colors, to dark
greens, blues, and blacks. She manages to make friends with a group of
kids who are known as the schools 'freaks'. Nick, Daniel, Ken and Kim.
Lindsay however is not accepted by all of the members of this group at first.
Kim the rugged foul-mouthed teen is having a hard time accepting
Lindsay into her group. Throughout the beginning of the show there is
nothing but tension between the two. The guys though don't seem to have
an issue with her, and Nick even takes on an extreme liking towards her.
You will watch as Lindsay battles day in and day out with being liked
and accepted by this group, the ups and downs of hanging out with the
'freaks'.
So just how will these two struggle to maintain a healthy balance
between school work, and the constant battle of trying to fit in and be
accepted by their peers?

OTHER CAST MEMBERS
THE FREAKS:
Daniel Desario (James Franco) is pretty much the misunderstood rebellious leader of the group of freaks.
Ken Miller, (Seth Rogen) is part of the group of freaks. He is a
fluffy headed extremely sarcastic fellow. Throughout the show he will
crack some really good jokes.
Kim Kelly (Busy Philipps) Is Daniel's girlfriend. She is mean,
moody, and probably any nerd's worst nightmare. Although she plays a
bully in a few episodes, she however only has a hard exterior;
underneath it she is really vulnerable.
Nick Andopolis (Jason Segel) is the nicer member of the freaks.
He is the one who introduces Lindsay into the group. He also has an
extreme obsession for playing the drums. Not only that but he grows an
extreme obsessive crush on Lindsay early on in the show.
THE GEEKS:
Neal Schweiber, (played by Samm Levine) is one of Sam's really
good geek friends. He is the comedian in the group, and the one who is
always seeking ways for the group to become more popular. Even though he
is a geek, he thinks otherwise.
Bill Haverchuck, (played by Martin Starr) is Sam and Neal's
best friend. He is the mega geek to the extremes. He's got big ears that
fan out like wings, huge glasses, and braces. Although he is so
obviously nerdy, he actually has a pretty cool sense of humor. You will
find yourself adoring this character.
Gordon Crisp (Jerry Messing) appears later on in the show. He
is an overweight geek who becomes friends with the group. However he
only has roles seldom, and most of the time you will only be seeing him
exchanging conversations with the boys in the lunchroom.
THE BULLY
Every school has a bully, or shall I say, every 'geek' always has a tormentor. I introduce you to Alan White (Chauncey Leopardi). This kid is mean. He picks on Sam every chance he gets, and occasionally takes a stab at Neal and Bill.
THE BEAUTY
Cindy Sanders, (Natasha Melnick) is Sam's friend/crush, most of
the time though Cindy ignores Sam, and only comes to him when she needs
help or advice about guys. Sam however embraces all of these
opportunities and is just excited that someone as pretty as Cindy is
even talking to him.
THE BALANCE
Millie Kentner, (played by Sarah Hagan) was Lindsay's best
friend since childhood, however ever since Lindsay started hanging out
with the freaks, Millie and Lindsay grew apart. Millie the slim slender
somewhat geeky girl is a member of the "mathletes" the same club that
Lindsay has quit. Millie can't understand why Lindsay has changed so
much. However whenever Lindsay needs someone to talk to, she turns to
Millie every time.
Harris Trinsky, (acted out by Stephen Lee Sheppard) is an
extremely strange sophomore who gives advice to the geeks whenever they
need it. He has re-occurring roles in the show. He could be considered a
geek, however, he is more of the hippie 'I like everyone' type.
THE TEACHERS
Jeff Rosso, (Dave (Gruber) Allen is McKinley Highs guidance
counselor. He has the whole hippie vibe, cool teacher thing going on
with him. He has frequent roles keeping the peace within the school.
Coach Ben Fredricks, (Tom Wilson) is the boy's physical
education teacher. He is a sporty beefy coach, which the boys cannot
tolerate at first. Because he seems to takes sides and only get friendly
with the more sporty boys.
Mr. Kowchevski, (played by Steve Bannos) is Lindsay's math
teacher. He is upset with her dropping out of the 'mathletes', and how
he notices that she has stopped caring about math, and the new group of
friends she is hanging out with.
THE PARENTS
Jean Weir,(played by Becky Ann Baker) is Sam and Lindsay's stay at home overprotective mother.
Harold Weir,(played by Joe Flaherty) is Lindsay and Sam's strict father. Lindsay struggles to break free from his demanding ways.
Each and every episode is filled with some sort of drama facing
Lindsay and her younger brother with a mix of some really good comedy in
between, by the end of the episode though, there is always a solution
to the problem. It's like the Brady Bunch, only very very modernized.
1. PILOT-
Lindsay-
Everyone is worried that Lindsay has quit the mathletes and has
started hanging out with the schools freaks, Nick, Kim, Daniel, and Ken.
Her parents are concerned, her teachers, and her friend Millie.
Sam-
Is being faced with constant teasing by Alan White the schools bully.
They have a stand off after school, where all of the boys teach him a
good lesson.
He is also pondering whether or not he should ask Cindy out to the homecoming dance. Bill and Neal root him on.
2.BEERS AND WEIRS-
Lindsay and Sam's parents are going away for the weekend. This could mean trouble!
Lindsay-
When she tells this to her new friends they all suggest that Lindsay
throw a party. She tells them no, but when Kim calls her a wimp, she is
pressured into saying okay. When the parents are gone, a beer keg is
brought into the home for the party.
Sam-
When Sam learns of the party he tells his Neal and Bill how it is a
bad idea and how he doesn't like the way his sister s anymore. How she
is going to get into trouble. The three team up and Neal comes up with
the idea to buy a keg of non-alcoholic beer and to replace it with the
real beer.
The boys manage to do just this, and hide the other keg in Sam's room away from everyone.
However even with fake beer the party gets out of control. Lindsay
goes to Nick to talk about how the whole thing was a terrible idea. Nick
responds by trying to feel her up. She gets upset and goes to Sam's
friend Neal who calls the cops for her to break up the party.
3. TRICKS AND TREATS-
Lindsay-
She promises her mother that she and her will do the tradition the
Weirs had been doing every Halloween. The two would dress up together
and hand out candy. However when Lindsay's new friends urge her to come
and hang out with them for Halloween she bails on her mother to go have
fun.
The fun ends up getting out of control. They all end up taking
turns smashing pumpkins, mailboxes and egging kids on the sidewalk. One
kid Lindsay eggs however, ends up being someone she wasn't expecting.
Sam-
Sam decides it would be fun to dress up and go out trick-or-treating
one last time with Neal and Bill before they are too old to not go
anymore. Soon enough the school bully and his bully friends run into Sam
and his friends demanding their candy. They lose their candy to the
bullies and end up arguing with each other over how stupid the whole
idea was. In the middle of the argument, a car drives by and throws an
egg right in Sam's face. The girl who threw the egg was his sister.
4. TESTS AND BREASTS-
Lindsay-
She tries to help tutor Daniel in algebra because if he fails one more
test he will be expelled. However when Daniel goes over to her house to
get tutored he shows no interest in it what so ever.
The next day instead he goes into the teacher's office to steal a copy
of the test. When he gets the copy he asks Lindsay to do it for him.
She protests at first but then ends up doing the test for him. All hell
breaks loose when the teacher knows Daniel did not pass this test on his
own. He knows Lindsay has a hand in it, seeing how she is now hanging
out with him.
Sam-
is learning about sex education in school by their coach. When the
coach makes a mockery of Sam in the classroom in front of everyone and
asks Sam to teach the class seeing how he won't stop talking. (In reality he was a victim of circumstances)
When he realizes he knows nothing about sex he tries to read as much as
he can in textbooks. However when Daniel catches him out on the Weir's
porch trying to learn about sex through a textbook, he gives him a tape.
The tape is porno.
Sam and the boys are pretty much disgusted after watching the film, which brings Sam to talking to the coach about sex.
5. I'M WITH THE BAND-
Lindsay-
when she hears from Nick that if his grades don't improve his father
is going to send him away to the army. When Lindsay hears this she
encourages Nick to pursue a music career. She hooks Nick up with a band
so he can play as the new drummer. However when he is at audition
Lindsay realizes that just because he loves the drums, does not mean he
is any good at playing them. He bombs the audition and gets depressed
about it. Lindsay gives him a kiss to cheer him up and he gets the wrong
idea. Nick now believes that him and Lindsay are boyfriend and
girlfriend because of this kiss on the cheek.
Sam-
has just been given the news that it is now mandatory that everyone
has to take a shower after gym class. Neal and Bill endure teasing while
Sam escapes each day without taking his clothes off and showering.
However when the coach catches him not showering day after day, Sam
finally takes a shower. Things go very wrong when Alan throws him out of
the locker room and into the schools hallway. Sam is now left naked
with nothing but a towel over his private areas. The school bell
rings...
This was a really funny episode.
6. CARDED AND DISCARDED-
Lindsay-
her and her friends decide to ask Millie's crazy older cousin to make
them fake ID's so they can get into a bar and watch a local band they
all really like (the who) play. However all goes wrong when they realize
that 'the who' is actually being performed by their guidance counselor,
who catches them in the crowd and makes a mockery of them over the
microphone. He just anted to make sure they were not served any alcohol.
Sam-
a new transfer student makes buddies with Sam, Neal and Bill. This
excites them because she is extremely pretty and she seems to enjoy
hanging out with them. All of them have a crush on her, which eventually
leads the boys into arguing over who she likes more.
However when they watch as she slowly starts to become friends with
some of the cheerleaders in school, they know that it is only a matter
of time before she dumps all of them to hang out with the cheerleaders.
7. GIRLFRIENDS AND BOYFRIENDS-
Lindsay-
Gets warned by Millie when Millie finds out that she is dating Nick, (or sort of dating Nick), that boys like Nick (freaks) only want sex. Lindsay gets mad at her for judging people she does not even know.
Even though she gets mad at Millie, when Lindsay is invited over to
Nicks house she worries that she is being invited over so he could have
his way with her just like Millie had said. However when he reassures
her that he wanted to take things slow, she is no longer worried.
The next day Nick gives Lindsay a rose, and her parents get worried
about this new relationship. Lindsay ends up getting a lecture on sex,
and boys.
Sam-
He gets excited when he hears that everyone will be assigned a lab
partner in science class. He is hoping that he gets paired with his
crush Cindy. However when Bill gets paired with her he gets very
jealous.
Sam is paired with an extremely heavy kid names Gordon. At first Sam
hates him. He's fat, he smells, and he is annoying. Over time though the
two get friendly, and Gordon even gives him tips on how to get Cindy to
like him. Sam absorbs all of Gordon's advice, and decided to join the
yearbook club so he can work with Cindy. However when the two start
talking Cindy refers to him as her 'sister' she can tell anything to,
which upsets him. Even though he is upset he never shows it, and remains
silent.
8. WE'VE GOT SPIRIT-
Lindsay-
she wants to break up with Nick because all he ever does is smoke pot,
and drown her with his presence. Kim warns her not to break up with him
because he has psychotic tendencies. She does not know what to do, so
she goes to her mother for advice on whether or not she should dump
Nick.
Her mother tells her to dump Nick, if that's what she wanted to do.
Lindsay chickens out though. But when Nick and Lindsay's mom have a run
in, she says she is sorry about the break up. Nick didn't even know that
Lindsay was going to break up with him. So when he hears this from her
mom, he tries to break it off, but in a cool, 'I don't care way'. He
gets depressed afterward.
Sam-
When the schools mascot is injured, Cindy pressures Sam into becoming
the new mascot to take the old ones place. He gets the position, and
dreads the practice drills that they have. Neal on the other hand, is
the one who really wanted to position of mascot, because he said the old
one was too boring.
Sam decided to give the huge costume to Neal to wear at the game after
he catches Cindy making out in the hallway with Todd. He gets his
heartbroken, however Neal manages to cheer him up with his quirky
strange display as mascot on during the game.
9. THE DIARY-
Lindsay-
Kim and Lindsay decide that it would be a good idea to go hitchhiking.
When they are picked up by one of Lindsay's dad's regular customers at
his store, he drops the girls off, and tells Lindsay's father. Lindsay
gets grounded.
The next day at school Kim asks is she got into trouble, naturally she
did, and Lindsay told Kim that her parents think that Kim is a bad
influence and how they don't want Lindsay hanging out with her so much
anymore, and how she should be friends with Millie again.
When Lindsay's parents realize that she is up to no good, and they no
longer know what is going on in her life, they decide to go into her
room and read her diary. They read a few things Lindsay had wrote about
them that upsets them.
Kim is now ignoring Lindsay because of the whole bad influence thing.
She is not mad at her for telling her what her parents said, but she is
mad that Lindsay didn't stick up for her. By the end of the show though,
the two make up and have a greater friendship than they had before.
Sam-
Sam's friend Bill is annoyed that the three of them are always picked
last for teams in gym class, and he is taking his anger out on the coach
for not doing anything about it. They sneak into his office to steal
teachers phone numbers. Bill decides to call the coach and pose as Bills
father, to let him know to give Bill a chance at a better spot on the
baseball team. When nothing is done the next day, Bill makes another
prank phone call to the coach. When the coach finds out that it was Bill
who made the phone call, Bill tells the coach he did it because he was
sick of not getting a chance at a better spot. So the coach makes Bill
the team captain that day. Bill gets a chance in the spotlight, and it
turns out he is actually really good at baseball.
10. LOOKS AND BOOKS-
Lindsay-
Her friends convince her that it would be a good idea to steal her
parent's car. She protests, but again gets pressured into taking the car
out. When she hits another car while pulling out of the driveway, she
gets into big trouble with her parents. They tell her she is no longer
allowed to hang out with any of the 'freaks'. Lindsay is actually not
upset by this, she feels that all of them are just using her, and
constantly getting her into trouble.
Lindsay goes back to her old group of nerdy friends and rejoins the
mathletes, and grabs the 1st slot on the mathletes club. When she goes
up in competition against other students, the 'freaks' actually show up
to root her on and cheer for her. Afterward she realizes that they're
not such bad people after all. She ends up hanging out with Daniel,
Nick, Kim and Ken again.
Sam-
Decides to do his hair in a new style to try and impress Cindy. When
she asks him if he had worn a hat all day because his hair looked flat,
he gets embarrassed. In an effort to try and look good and impress Cindy
he and his friends go out to the local mall to buy Sam a new wardrobe
that would impress Cindy.
They are approached by a disco loving salesperson, that talks Sam into
buying the newest 'coolest' trend, a tacky blue disco fever jumpsuit.
When he arrives at school the next day he thinks he looks good, up until
everyone who lays eyes on him laughs, and points.
11. THE GARAGE DOOR-
Lindsay-
Lindsay makes an effort to hook Ken up with one of her acquaintances, a
tuba player in the marching band. Everything goes smoothly when Lindsay
finds out that she thinks Ken is cute, and that she kind of likes him,
and his fluffy sideburns.
Kim tells Lindsay to act nasty towards Nick, because he still has a
crush on her. Daniel ends up giving Nick the same advice because girls
like that, so the majority of this episode, the both of them act a
little cold towards one another. When the group go out to the laser show
with one another, Ken ends up making out with the tuba player, Kim and
Daniel whom have been fighting also make up, and Lindsay and Nick
apologize to one another for being cold towards each other.
Sam-
on the other hand has caught Neal's father in the department store
hugging another woman. When Neal's father approaches him and sort of
tells him to be quiet and how the woman is just his friend, Sam tells
Bill, who tells Neal.
When Neal doesn't believe them he ends up throwing then out of his
house. However the next day he tells them he found a garage door opener
that didn't open his garage, and that it must belong to the woman he is
cheating on his mother with. The 3 of them spend the entire day riding
their bikes up and down street, clicking the remote at every garage
door. His friends tell him they have to go home, and that it was
hopeless and that she could live across town, and they'd never find her.
After his 2 friends bail on him, he clicks it on one last garage door
feeling helpless. The door opens, and inside is his father car.
12. CHOKIN' AND TOKIN'-
Lindsay-
She confronts Nick about his constant pot smoking. He gets mad at her
and throws his bag of weed at her telling her to take it and how he
doesn't need it. When she goes home, she actually decides to smoke some
of it herself. She gets wasted, and she also has to baby-sit. She calls
Millie up for help. Millie gets angry with her, but comes along just for
the child's welfare. She ends up freaking out for the majority of the
time. Afterward though she bonds with Millie again, whom she hasn't hung
out with in quite some time.
Sam-
Bill tells his teacher about various allergies he has, and when he
lets her and the rest of the class know that he is allergic to peanuts
and how he could die if he eats one, no one in the class believes him.
Of course it has to be the bully Alan who slips a peanut into his
sandwich while he is away from his lunch table. Bill eats the sandwich
and immediately recognizes it is crunchy, like peanuts. He thinks Neal
or Bill put the peanut into his sandwich up until Alan gets up laughing.
Before you know it, Bill is rushed out to the hospital. Alan is forced
to go and apologize; however Bill is in critical condition.
Alan gets
upset, and begs that Bill does not die, and explains that he is only
mean because they were mean to him at one time, how they would not let
him play with their gadgets and geek things. When Bill awakens, he faces
off with Alan again, who tries to act all bully like. Bill tells him
though that he heard him before and invites him to a star wars
convention.
13. SMOOCHING AND MOOCHING-
Lindsay- When Nick comes home and discovers that his father has sold
his enormous drum kit, he runs away from home, and shacks up with
Daniel. However after one night at Daniels he gets told he can't stay
over again because Daniels nutty mother went nuts when Nick didn't flush
the toilet. When he is out of places to crash, he shows up at Lindsay's
parents house, they take him in with open arms. He appreciates
everything they do for him, from the home cooked meals, to Lindsay's
father giving him a part time job at his store so Nick could pay for
drum lessons for Nick. Lindsay gets jealous, however her father explains
to her that Nick needs guidance, where Lindsay does not. Nick crashes
on Lindsay's couch up until his father comes over demanding Nick come
back home. Nick does not protest.
Sam-
Sam recently learns that Cindy and Todd are broken up. Cindy tells
Bill to tell Sam that she has a crush on him, and that she likes him,
and to tell Sam to ask her out to some school party. Sam asks her out,
and she says yes. Bill and Neal feel left out, and tell him to ask Cindy
if they too could attend the party.
She says that it is okay, and Neal
and Bill tag along.
When they realize it is actually a make-out party they all get
nervous. While playing spin the bottle, Bill ends up having to go into
the closet to make out with a more popular cheerleader girl. However in
the closet, all she does is ridicule him, and make fun of him. He yells
back saying that she is nothing special, and that he doesn't want to
kiss her anyways. Afterward, the air is calm, and the two get to
talking, and the girl changes her mind and ends up kissing Bill. His
very first kiss! Sam also gets his first kiss from Cindy, even though he
was excited, he was also taken aback by how quickly she went in for the
kiss.
14. THE LITTLE THINGS-
Lindsay-
Vice president Bush is coming in for a school visit. Lindsay is given
the chance to ask him one question at the assembly. However when the
vice presidents staff, before the assembly, declines her question.
Lindsay seeks revenge, and asks why his staff rejected her question.
Meanwhile Ken is battling whether or not he is gay because he has just
found out that his girlfriend was born with both a male part, and
female part. However she had the operation as a baby and now she only
has the girl part.
Sam-
has come to the realization that having Cindy as a girlfriend isn't
all its cracked up to be, in fact he finds her quite boring, and when he
tries to get her to participate in some of the things he likes, she
gets annoyed, and shows no interest in it.
When he dumps Cindy, she tells him she is only dating him because he is a nice guy, and nice guys have to be nice to her.
15. DISCOS AND DRAGONS-
Lindsay-
when Nick gets busted dancing at a local disco all of his friends make
fun of him. Nick also gets a new girlfriend. Lindsay shows that she may
be a little bit jealous by the whole thing, especially when he tells
her that his new girlfriend loves him, and how he has quit smoking pot,
and that he is having more fun with her than he had ever had with
Lindsay. However you can tell towards the end of this episode that he's
not so sure about his new girlfriend, and that he may still have
feelings for Lindsay.
Sam-
All of his friends are planning a dungeons and dragons game for that
night. Sam tells them it's a geek thing to do and that he does not want
to participate. However when Daniel shows interest in it, he is invited
along to play. When Daniel has a good time playing, the boys wonder if
Daniel is a geek for playing, or if playing is a cool thing to do.
16. KIM KELLY IS MY FRIEND-
Lindsay-
When Kim and Lindsay go for a ride in 'her' car, she brings Lindsay
over to her house, in efforts to make herself look good in front of her
mother who views her as a bad daughter (her mother though is crazy herself).
By bringing Lindsay over and saying Lindsay is a rich awesome straight
A friend, she thinks her mother wouldn't look down on her anymore and
lighten up on her a bit. Kim also lied and said she was away with
Lindsay a few weeks before, (we learn that she was really with Daniel).
However when she is exposed as a fraud, her mother threatens to take
away her car and sell it. Kim and Lindsay bail and Kim decides to go and
look for Daniel and tell him about it. When she discovers him out on
the school field flirting with one of her good friends, she flips out.
She ends up going over to Lindsay's house where chaos follows.
Sam-
when he makes it to his locker, he has a run in with the very same
girl that was caught with Daniel. She picks on him for a good minute,
and then writes 'GEEK' on his locker in lipstick. Later on when she is
gone, he smudges it off of his locker, just as the girl walks up to him
again, and yells at him for erasing her artwork. She then takes out a
black permanent marker and writes it again. When she leaves Sam begins
to scratch it out in marker, and gets into trouble for writing on it.
The next day the girl approaches her locker with a giant 'SL-' written
on it in black marker. She accuses Sam of writing it, when Kim steps up
and from the corner, and says she did it, she then threatens her to
stay away from Daniel, and how she will be seeing her after school for a
royal butt stomping. Sam now realizes that Kim isn't such a bad person
after all.
17. DEAD DOGS AND GYM TEACHERS-
Lindsay-
when Kim and Lindsay are driving at night, Kim runs something over,
Lindsay urges her to stop, but she keeps going anyways. The next day
they learn that Millie's dog was ran over the same night. In attempts to
cheer Millie up while covering up her own guilt, Kim decides to become
friends with her. Millie now is acting all rebellious and going against
her mothers will while hanging out with the freaks.
Lindsay does not
like seeing her innocent friend acting like this, so she comes clean
about her dog.
Millie no longer wants to be around them. Lindsay follows
her and apologizes, and the same day they have a funeral or her dog.
Sam-
Bills mother is bringing home a date, only when the date shows up
things go a little crazy. Bill's mom is dating Bills gym teacher! The
gym teacher struggles to become friends with Bill, who at every moment
is finding more and more ways to make the guy feel bad. At the end
however they make amends. Bill realizes he loves his mother, and he
should be happy about that.
18. NOSHING AND MOSHING-
Lindsay-
when Neal's older brother comes home for a visit, Lindsay takes an
immediate liking towards him. Neal catches Lindsay and his brother share
a kiss outside during a family party. He gets jealous, and tries to act
as if he does not care.
Kim and Daniel break up in this episode, Daniel rebels by hanging out
with a girl in the 'punks' group. He tries to become all punk, however
when he sees the girl making out with someone else, he goes back to beg
for forgiveness from Kim.
Sam-
Neal decides to tell his mother about his fathers infidelities,
however she tells Neal she already knew, and that they stay together
because of the boys (him and his older brother).
Discos and Dragons should have been aired, as the last show in the
series, however was not. Lindsay is invited to participate in an
educational summit. Only given out to the smarter of kids. She however
bails, and follows the Grateful Dead around all summer with Kim. And
this is how the show ends.
Freaks and Geeks was and is an excellent show even still today.
It covers issues that many teens may be going through right now. The
struggles to fit in, and to be 'cool' and accepted in the world of
school 'cliches'.
This particular show covers everything from heart ache, comedy, make
ups, and break ups, sexuality, love and hate, and the division of
groups, and how others outside of that particular cliche's views others
outside of their groups.
It was very interesting to see through the eyes of each.
Not many shows these days provide an insight quite as uniquely as Freaks and Geeks did.
I do however wish that Freaks and Geeks could have continued into a
second season and maybe patched up some questions. Like any show that
only lasts a season, there are always questions that a fan of the show
would like to ask.
I'd recommend Freaks and Geeks to everyone really; you get connected to the characters just by watching the pilot.
I will say that this will be most adored by older teens and adults.
Younger children might not really like it, and parents may not want
younger children watching it seeing how there are some issues involving
sex and drugs.
But sigh, and sniff. I really wish it continued.
For me Freaks and Geeks is a 5 star series from beginning to end.
There was not an episode I didn't like. The acting was flawless, the
characters are all adoring and hard to forget.
What is neat about Freaks and Geeks is how some of the actors are in
new movies starring together. Seth Rogen in particular can be found in a
few films with some of the geeks playing smaller parts.
