You Don't Mess with the Zohan: Movie Review

After coming across review after review where there was nothing but horribly bad things to say about the movie You Don't Mess With the Zohan, I nearly skipped it all together. Due to the fact that my boyfriend has been a long time fan of Adam Sandler though, he ended up renting it, and to be honest, I'm glad he did, and most of all I am as confused as hell as to why this movie received so many ill reviews, because the flick had me laughing from nearly start to finish.

Maybe I like lame comedy? Or maybe those reviewing the flick don't find farts funny. Well lemme tell yah from my stand point, farts are like a joke that never grows old. You throw a fart in a flick and I'm laughing.

Fart jokes though were not the only thing You Don't Mess with the Zohan delivers though. The flick was chock full of fun humor.

The movie is about a an Israeli who is considered their human weapon. An excellent fighter, and super fast body skills that make him pretty much inhuman. However he does not want to fight anymore, he wishes to become a hairdresser. During one battle he fakes his own death, and heads to America with his 80's version of a haircutting book, to fulfill his dreams of becoming a hairdresser.

Although the plot itself is pretty damn lame, it plays out with funny and entertaining scenes around every corner.

Zohan transforms himself by giving himself a new hair cut, and by changing his name in order to protect his true identity. Not too long into the Zohans new successful hairdressing career, his nemesis discovers that he is still alive and well in the city, and comes to look for him to finish him off.

Zohan however does not wish to fight with his nemesis anymore because he thinks fighting is pointless.

Besides that, he also has a new love interest whom has a secret of her own, that we discover at the near end of the movie.

Acting:

Sandler always seems to recruit his acting buddies in nearly every movie he is in, and You Don't Mess with the Zohan is no exception. In this flick you will see a few of his famous pals playing roles in the movie, and they too deliver funny scenes just as superbly as Sandler does.

All in all You Don't Mess with the Zohan is a funny movie that you will definitely want to see, especially if you are a fan of Adam Sandler. Although I found the ending to be the stupidest ending any Sandler flick has ever delivered, it was still funny up until the very last few minutes of the movie.

You Don't Mess with the Zohan delivers bodily function jokes, some minor issues on Islamic and Israeli race wars, sex jokes, and granny banging humor. Although it is a movie that not everyone would find enjoyable, most who have any juice left in that funny bone will find themselves laughing out loud during the movie.

I'd easily slap a 3.5 star rating onto You Don't Mess with the Zohan. Minus a star and a half due to the lackluster 'let's hurry up and finish this movie' type of ending.
