Review: Hershey Kisses Limited Edition Neapolitan

Hershey Kisses has been recently delivering limited edition flavors in drones. I have tried quite a few of these limited flavors. Some of them impress me, and others are downright disgusting.

When I came across a bag of Hershey Kisses Limited Edition Neapolitan a few months ago, I scooped them up thinking they would be delicious; besides, Neapolitan is one of my top favorite ice cream flavors, so why wouldn't I love these kisses?

The bag I picked up was a larger one pound bag found in our local Sam's Club for just under $6.00. (If you are going to buy them, buy them at a warehouse, they are always cheaper, and you get way more for your money).

The bag itself clearly shows the kisses through a clear window in the packaging. Inside I was able to see the silver foil, with black and pink swirls running within the silver. The package has a photo of a bowl of Neapolitan ice cream, which is easy to find, and easy to distinguish between other kisses that may be on the shelf.

Texture:

Like original kisses, the Hershey Kisses Limited Edition Neapolitan have a similar texture. The same hard, yet melt in your mouth chocolate texture that fans of Hershey Kisses already know and love.

Most of these new limited edition flavors have a very soft texture to them, so I was glad to see that Hershey Kisses Limited Edition Neapolitan did not. I'm not all too keen on the overly soft kisses to be honest.

Appearance:

The Hershey Kisses Limited Edition Neapolitan are cute when you open them up from their protective foil. They are made to look like Neapolitan ice cream, with a chocolate bottom, a strawberry middle, and a vanilla top.

Flavor:

Me being a chocolate fan, I was hoping to taste chocolate above and beyond any other flavor. The moment I popped a kiss into my mouth though it was obvious what the dominating flavor was; strawberry. It was really not a huge shocker seeing how the strawberry middle part of the kiss is the largest, while you only get a small amount of chocolate and vanilla at the bottom and top.

To say the least, I was a bit disappointed. There was nothing Neapolitan flavored about this kiss at all. They should of just colored the entire thing pink, and called it strawberry.

If you want to get technical though, each chocolate does have it's own taste if you bite them off in one by one. I bit the chocolate part off, and indeed it had the original Hershey's chocolate flavor. The vanilla topping also was white chocolate. Sadly though when you chew it as a whole, you only taste strawberry.

Overall:

Hershey Kisses Limited Edition Neapolitan fails to impress me. I like the appearance and the texture of the Hershey Kiss, but I have never been too much of a fan of strawberry flavored chocolate, and really that is all you will be tasting when it comes to these kisses.

Where To Find:

Hershey Kisses Limited Edition Neapolitan are still being sold in Sam's Club. You can also pick up a bag online by doing a google search, if you are still interested.
