Review: Hershey's Candy Cane Limited Edition Kisses

I came across a bag of Hershey Kisses Limited Edition Candy Cane Kisses last year around Christmas time. The first time I tried these horrible little chunks of nasty I imagined these limited edition kisses would never again make it back on shelves after this holiday season. Yet low and behold the little nasties will be back again this holiday.

Packaging:

Hershey's Candy Cane Limited Edition Kisses comes packed in a cherry holiday bag with a see through window in the bag. Inside you see a bunch of adorably wrapped candies wrapped in silver foil, with red swirls. The bag itself features a photo of 2 candy canes criss crossing one another.

Appearance:

After opening the kisses foil, I took a look at the kiss sitting before me. It was pretty cute. It was white with red swirls, and I could tell it had flecks of candy cane in it. I hoped though the flecks would easily melt in your mouth, and not become an issue.

Texture:

Here is the deal killer.

Normally I love minty flavored chocolates, but the moment I bit into one of these and realized these white chocolate minty candies were doused in flecks of actual hard candy cane, I was disgusted.

Chocolate and hard candy just do not mix. Ever since trying a chocolate bar with mini M&M's inside of it, I was always turned off by hard candy and milk chocolate mixes.

Flavor:

The flavor of Hershey's Candy Cane Limited Edition Kisses are way the heck too strong. All you taste is peppermint candy cane. The whole concept was totally confusing to the pallet, and totally disgusting.

Overall:

Hershey's Candy Cane Limited Edition Kisses have been by far the worst limited edition kisses I have ever tried, and I have tried nearly all of them. These though are potent, and the texture just does not sit well with me. I was expecting a delicious creamy candy cane flavored kiss. Instead I got broken pieces of candy cane, covered in vanilla mint chocolate.

Where To Find:

These crunchy cane kisses will be hitting shelves come this winter holiday season.

Recommended?

Absolutely not.

If available pick up a bag of the chocolate mint flavored kisses instead. They are much much better, and resemble a grasshopper cookie flavor.
