As I had mentioned in an earlier review, my friend recently re-did her
entire bathroom, with a very gorgeous theme that we had both stumbled
upon at our local KMart.
The Theme?Essential Home Ooh La La.
We both fell in love with the vintage look. Due to the high price of
obtaining the entire collection, I skipped on the purchase. She however,
did not. She wanted the theme. Not that I couldn't blame her. The Ooh La La theme was gorgeous.
The collection contained an Ooh La La Wastebasket. Honestly she was
going to skip on this one, only because it was so expensive, and really,
it was not a necessity.
After gathering all of the accessories from the collection though, she
decided that she needed it in order to finish the entire theme in the
bathroom.
Appearance:
I loved the wastebasket, but I thought it was ridiculous that it had a
price tag of $21.99! Yes, I didn't stutter, $29.99 for a freaking
wastebasket.
It was pretty though, really pretty. The Ooh La La Wastebasket is made
to look like wrought iron delicately wrapped around a frosted plastic
bucket (which is removable). At the top of the wastebasket though there
are small clips with plastic pink hearts that dangle from it. It is very
elegant looking (not tacky).
The reason she nearly skipped on the purchase of the wastebasket
though was due to the fact that the inner frosted plastic bucket is very
cheap in quality. The ones on the shelves all had small flaws, which
included scratches or nicks in the plastic. We found one that was nearly
flawless, but not quite.
The basket is also sort of small for the price tag. It stands in at 9.5 inches high, with a 7.5 inch diameter.
Overall:
I like the look of the Ooh La La Wastebasket. I do think though that
it is the lowest quality piece in the entire collection, and for some
reason it is nearly the highest priced item in the collection. Go
figure.
Recommendation:
Although it is a bit expensive, it is a must have if you plan on doing your entire bathroom with the Ooh La La theme.
Where To Buy:
You can pick up this piece in the bathroom section at any local KMart. You can also pick it up online at Kmart's website.
