Wizards of Waverly Place, Season 2, Episode 5: Alex's Brother Maximan

The name of this particular episode sort of threw me off, because Max (the youngest Wizard in the family) had only a small role in this episode. And honestly, I think season 2, episode 5, should have been called Dean's Corner.
 
Still though the name remains Alex's Brother Maximan (season 2, episode 5).

In this particular episode Dean who is now Alex's sort of boyfriend asks her out on their first date to a roller rink. Alex thinking the two are going to be alone discovers that Dean asked a few of his friends to come along, so she works on figuring out a way to cut those couples out of the date so she can have a one on one date with Dean alone.

Meanwhile Jerry (their father) tells Max that there is an alphabetical order deli robber, robbing deli's in alphabetical order! Seeing how the robber is up to V, Max thinks that the robber is going to come to their Waverly Sub and rob them, so he makes up this ridiculous costume and superhero alter ego in order to stop the robber.

The story however was only fabricated by their father to get the children to work in a team together, seeing that they failed to work together properly on a spell to walk up walls earlier on.

Anyhow, Alex manages to rid herself of the other couples who were going to come with her and Dean on their date, and now she is ecstatic because she knows her and Dean will have some alone time on their first date.

Quickly though Alex learns that Dean has a place at the roller rink known as Dean's corner! According to the circulating gossip, this corner is where Dean takes girls to kiss! She also learns more about Deans bad reputation, and that he has a habit of taking MANY girls to this corner to kiss, and now Alex is about to become yet another victim of Dean's bad reputation with girls, and his kissing corner!

Once at the rink Alex is taken to the corner and tries to escape from it numerous times, yet due to odd circumstances keeps ending up in the corner with Dean. Dean does not try to kiss her though, and as much as she feared him trying to kiss her, she is now upset that he hasn't! Seeing that this was his official kissing corner, she begins to think he does not like her, because he has not tried to plant a kiss on her yet!

Overall this particular episode is really cute, with a heck of a lot of fun and comical moments (especially the scenes with Harper in them).

Alex also gets something pretty special by the time the show ends, so you will have to tune in to find out what that special thing is. All in all Alex's Brother Maximan, in my opinion is a 9 star episode.

I still though think that this episode could have used a name change, because the whole superhero gig played by Max was actually a little bit boring, and seeing that he has grown quite a bit since last season, it was very goofy for a boy of his age to be wearing underwear on top of tights. It would have been perhaps more believable and cute had Max been 3. A little something for the writer's to perhaps take into consideration. The kid is not 3!
