My dog was in need of a new pet bed. He has one in my room, and one
upstairs that although it was bought for him, has been shared. Between 7
other dogs that is.
They have quite a few beds, and my mom even has a room where they
sleep at night like little dwarf's. However there is only one pet bed in
the kitchen. This particular bed always takes a beating.
Pet beds don't last long for us, especially seeing how all of them claim the bed the dirty way. They pee on them. Non-stop washing eventually wears the bed thin and ragged, so we replace it every other month or so.
I came across the Lulu Pink Cheetah Lux 17" Bed at Walmart about 2
weeks ago. Due to a lack of funds though, and other purchases, I wasn't
about to cough up $20.00 on the bed.
Why I Fell In Love:
I liked the design. The bed is 17" and has a very girly pink fabric
with pretty brown trees etched into the fabric for a design. The bed
also has a cute satin pink bow sewn into the front of it. I think it was
the pink bow and cute pillow that made me want it so bad.
The pillow is attached with plastic wire so it remains in the bed at
all times, unless you rip it off. I would leave it on though, or it will
become a chew toy.
Besides the pink tree patterned fabric, the bed was lined with a soft
plush like leopard fabric. The pillow is reversible, on one side you
have the pink tree fabric, and on the other the softer plush leopard
fabric.
I liked the fact that you could reverse things around to coordinate to your mood.
I eventually ended up buying the bed on my most recent trip to
Walmart. I couldn't not. I loved it the first time I saw it, and
regretted leaving it behind when I first wanted it. I was glad it was
still there.
Use:
We placed it in the kitchen, and got rid of their old bed. I wanted my
dog to sit in it first, but he was acting like he was allergic to it.
Maybe it was the pink color? Hehe.
Beanie was the first to hop her furry butt into the Lulu Pink Cheetah
Lux 17" Bed. She layed down, and took a nap. I assumed from there on out
it would be her official bed, and she'd bite anyone who came near
her/it.
I'm happy to report though that 2 small dogs can fit in it at once,
and they seem to take turns using the bed. The others will just go lay
on my moms real bed when it's in use.
Reverse!
I liked the reversible pillow that the dog lays on, and the reversible
pillow that lays on top of the larger reversible pillow (phew!). I can
change to look from pink pattern, to leopard.
One problem I encountered though was how the small pillow was
attached. When I tried reversing the large pillow, I had to cut the
plastic wire that held the small one on in order for the pillow to lay
properly in the bed.
That sucked, because now the pillow is missing, and obviously had become our Bull Terriers lunch.
Overall:
The bed is decent, but for the price it's not very high quality. Only a
week in the house now, and already it has taken on an ugly frumpy
appearance. The weight of the dogs has also caused the walls to slump
slightly. It was a really pretty bed, and it has been shared by our 7
smaller dogs. I just think I should of invested the $20.00 in a more
simple and larger plush bed.
I really bought the Lulu Pink Cheetah Lux 17" Bed based on cutesy
factor. If that is all you are after then I guess it's an okay purchase.
However if you want something long lasting, I'd go with a more standard
pet bed.
Where To Buy:
Walmart, or Walmart.com. The price remains the same at $19.88.
