Petstages Interacting Toss & Shake: Dog Toy Review

My brother actually brought home the Petstages Interacting Toss & Shake about a month ago. I figured seeing how the toy is still intact, it was worthy of mention.

What is it?

The Petstages Interacting Toss & Shake is a dog toy that actually looks more like a giant baby toy. It has a plush ring, and sewed to the ring are a set of 5 finger like pieces of fabric. Attached to the fabric are balls.

The moment I saw this thing, I assumed our Bull Terrier would tear a hole right through it, or rip off all 5 of the sewn on balls with ease. I also assumed his Boxer would tear it up with ease as well, even though she is a light chewer.

I was surprised to see it, seeing how all of use usually buy durable heavy duty chew toys.

Durable?

On first inspection one would think no. Dogs will chew through this one with ease. However after picking it up I was surprised at how thick the fabric was on this toy. Not only that everything was sewn with some heavy duty string, not just regular ol' yarn.

What was sort of cool about the Petstages Interacting Toss & Shake was the fact that inside of the ring and pieces of fabric there was some sort of thick bag that when touched gave off a neat crinkling nose that his Boxer seemed to get excited over.

The balls that are attached, are made a bit cheaper then the rest of the toy. They feel very soft, and are filled with cotton. I figured the 5 balls would be the first thing to get ripped off of the toy.

Tug Of War:

By far, the Petstages Interacting Toss & Shake has got to be one of the neatest tog of war toys we have had to date. We have 10 dogs. When you play with one, all 10 of them want play time, and sometimes play time would result in someone else getting accidentally bit or... bit on purpose; due to trying to steal the toy.

With the Petstages Interacting Toss & Shake you have control, and if you are strong enough you can play tug of war with up to 5 little dogs, or 2 or 3 large dogs. I love it because each dog will grab one of the balls and begin to tug. If you grow tired you can just let go and let them all go at it together. Haha!

The Petstages Interacting Toss & Shake became pretty popular amongst the little dogs, and my brothers Boxer paid little mind to it. The Bull Terrier oddly enough will not chew this toy to bits. I found this odd because he usually destroys every toy he gets. Yet when he picks this one up he sort of just walks with it, and then puts it down 20 or so minutes later. I think it is the crinkle sound it makes that keeps him from not chewing it up? Thats seriously the only conclusion I have.

Last:

We have had it for a month, and so far only 1 ball has been ripped off of it. They still however are able to grab hold of the fabric and play tug of war with one another with it.

Overall:

A decent dog toy. The Petstages Interacting Toss & Shake provided fun for more than just one dog, so it's a major plus when it comes to greedy dogs who think everything is theirs. I also enjoy it because there have been no accidental bites while playing with the toy.

Where To Buy:

Like me, my brother is also a regular over at Petco. He picked this one up there for about $8.00. You can also buy it online at Petco.com.
