Review: New Reese's Select Clusters

Reese's is a chocolate snack that will always be the majority's favorite. Hershey's chocolate covered outside, delicious fresh peanut butter on the inside, what's not to love?

Reese's has always been my top choice when it comes to satisfying a sweet tooth, so when I saw New Reese's Select Clusters in a fair pound sized bag at my local Sam's Club, I scooped the bag up. I didn't have to sample try the Reese's Select Clusters to know if I'd like them or not... I just knew I would.

Packaging:

The new Reese's Select Clusters come in a bag that makes them easily distinguished as part of the Reese's family. The original pumpkin colored orange bag, with a new and unusual chocolate delight on the cover.

The package though shows the new deluxe chocolates looking more like a gourmet cookie though, than it does a hock of chocolate and peanut butter deliciousness.

Appearance:

The Reese's Select Clusters are individually wrapped in orange wrapping, you will immediately notice the lack of brown paper surrounding the new shaped Reese's cups though, because after all, they are not cups, but clusters. At first glance they resemble larger sized caramel clusters like the ones you would find in a Whitman's Sampler.

One difference between a Whitman's cluster and a Reese's Select Clusters though. Reese's Select Clusters are deliciously smooth and not tough at all.

One bite and you will notice that the middle is not only filled with peanut butter, but also fresh peanuts, pecans, and a nice smooth drop of caramel.

Taste:

First bite and you immediately taste the original Reese's that we all already know and love. As you start chewing you will notice there are small clusters of peanuts, and last but not least the caramel hits your tongue creating a mixture of pure chocolate, peanut butter and caramel bliss. I never really noticed the pecan taste within the cluster. Still though Reese's Select Clusters was delicious, and eating just one is sure to satisfy the sweet tooth.

Overall:

The new Reese's Select Clusters are quite delicious, I'm in no rush to replace these new clusters with the originals that I have loved since childhood. Although they would not personally be my first choice snack when it comes to Reese's, it's a damn fine addition to an already delicious family.

Pricing:

I was able to pick up a super sized 1.59 pound bag at my local Sam's Club for $8.97. You can buy smaller bags for less. These New Reese's Select Clusters can be found in the late summer in many food stores, super stores or factory stores. Not all stores though will be carrying them yet, as they are very new to the market.

Recommended:

Reese's lovers- they are definitely worth a try!
