Samsung 22" LCD SyncMaster Monitor 2232BW

I thought that hooking my computer up to my Samsung HDTV would be cool. However browsing the net and working on a computer using a 42 inch screen is not as wondrous as I first imagined. For one it's far too large, and not as easy on the eyes as Id liked.

Me being the dope I am, I threw out my old clunker of a monitor, and now I was out a monitor. My fix was purchasing the Samsung 22" LCD SyncMaster Monitor 2232BW.

I love Samsung and have been a loyal customer since buying my HDTV, so I knew immediately I'd be picking up a Samsung monitor, and when I came across the Samsung 22" LCD SyncMaster Monitor 2232BW for $269.99 it was love at first sight.

The monitor was adorable first and foremost, and matched my big screen nearly to the tee. The same slick shiny black frame surrounding a gorgeous matte finished 22 inch screen. The adorable Samsung logo at the bottom, and a sexy round 'power' button to the far right that glows a bright blue ring when its on.

Out of the box, the Samsung 22" LCD SyncMaster Monitor 2232BW came with 2 available plugs to attach to my PC. A DVI plug, and a standard VGA cable. It also came packed with a driver installation CD, and of course your power chord.

The base of the monitor swivels back from 0 degrees to 18 degrees. The base is a slick shiny black plastic, which looks exactly like a miniaturized version of an HDTV's base. The base has to be put together manually, but it is as simple as snap, click and lock. Not screws, nuts, bolts or screwdrivers needed.

Putting the base together made me a little wary, because I was not sure how well it would work when it came to holding up the monitor. Once together though, it worked like a charm with absolutely no issues.

At the bottom of the monitor you have your control buttons. There you can adjust your monitors settings.

Brightness, contrast; the whole nine is located here, and you can adjust them according to your preferences.

What I love about the settings is that they are quick and easy to use, and you can adjust them with a few clicks. Gaming, document work, and web browsing. I usually prefer different settings for each.

The colors given off are rich, bright, and vibrant. The reason likely being that the Samsung 22" LCD SyncMaster Monitor 2232BW comes packed with a 1680x1050 resolution.

The Samsung 22" LCD SyncMaster Monitor 2232BW weighs in at 11 pounds, which is decent, and makes things very easy when it comes to setting it up. You won't really need the help of another person hooking this monitor up.

Also, the monitor itself is no thicker than an inch deep. However if you take into consideration the 1 inch small bulge at the back of the monitor, I'd say it comes in at around 1.5 inches thick.

Issue!

I love the Samsung 22" LCD SyncMaster Monitor 2232BW, but there is definitely an issue I need to discuss.

One issue I did run into time and time again was the location of the lower chord plug and the DVI plugs. They are located at the back of the monitor, but the plugs don't stick out of the back like normal old monitors have. Instead they are plugged up into it, which cause the power plug to sometimes slide out. It was very annoying to have the monitor go off on me every time I adjusted the monitors angle.

Overall:

Even with that one issue aside, I still am loving the monitor. It is easy on my eyes, large enough to where I do not have on my reading glasses, has a gorgeous colorful wide screen, and allows me to adjust it to my preferences with ease. Best of all though, it's slim sleek design saves me a ton of room.

Where To Purchase:

You can pick up the Samsung 22" LCD SyncMaster Monitor 2232BW at Best Buy for $269.99. Seeking it out on online stores though you may be able to pick it up for a discount.
